They're celebs, of course they will make it public. Donating is beneficial for many, and if they're helping a cause of course they should make it public so that people will know what good they're doing. They're celebrities and their fame relies on their fans, who immediately gain more respect for them after hearing big donations. Of course it's not just this, but most of them probably genuinely want to care for these things.
