I agree with all that. I think that she thinks the respect and devotion she feels for the king is actually love. She wants to "serve" him in anyway that would help him and make him happy. This is why she eventually accepted his proposal and went to bed with him.

On the other hand, the Emperor sincerity is slowly moving her, which is why she turned around and watched him cry after she told him about her father's death. Also, the more the emperor is going to mature, the more she will come to respect him. She already wavered and thought about him after hearing the King's proposal, comparing it to his numerous confessions.

In the first episode, Nyang is happy to marry the Emperor, because she's too honest to fake such a smile. She cries because of the pain she caused to the King, but that's all.
