Was looking forward to this until it was announced Bae In Hyuk was the ML. Completely miscast if you've read the webtoon (he looks like he's 18 years old). Another K-drama to avoid then. Annoying.
Kim Dong Wook in top form as always. FL miscast and not as compelling; I like romance but itβs the least interesting…
FL is terrible. ONE facial expression the whole way through -- completely blank. The drama itself is well written, Kim Dong Wook is always excellent, and so are most of the supporting actors, but the FL makes this one hard to watch. Found myself fast forwarding thru most of her scenes.
Unfortunately, Jin Ki Joo has one facial expression the whole way through -- blank. (Look at her photo on this page -- THAT"s what she looks like throughout every darn episode). As though she's an imbecile. Loved the first half, but her poor acting skills destroyed the second half for me. A pity so many Korean directors go for looks before they go for the ability to actually act. Will be avoiding anything she's in in future. Talentless. EDIT: Remembered she's also in Secret Life of My Secretary, Hated her so much in that I dropped it midway.
Well, I rarely drop movies, this one was so lacking in narrative no subtitles were required. It had less narrative…
It was truly terrible. I originally gave it a 6 but have just dropped it to a 4 as the more I thought about how much of a ripoff it was from the work of so many other much better directors, and with no substance at all in either plot or performances, it pissed me off more and more.
Loved this from beginning to end. Main leads are fabulous with superb interactions between them, supporting characters are interesting, the plot is well written and every episode is fast-paced. Went into it not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Recommended. Particularly if you like the type of relationship that grows from animosity and very slowl turns into love.
Disappointing. Will be watching it for Kim Jae Wook, but I can't stand Jo Bo Ah, she ruins every drama she's in.…
Same. I usually avoid everything Jo Bo Ah is in. Then I confirmed how much she can't act when I struggled thru first 3 episodes of Destined with You. I was looking forward to this one since it was announced at the beginning of the year, but now not so much.
you know how people are sooooo fine with age gap ships on this platform? whether its creepy as fuck shows like…
Wow, what a dumb comment. I'm in a relationship with someone who is 12 years my senior, who I first met when I was 14. Dated for 5 years from when I was 20 to 25, and now been married for 17 years. Two kids, 1 dog, 2 cats, pretty much perfect marriage. So bizarre that anyone thinks "age gaps" are "problematic". How old are you? 12, with no life experience at all?
It's so boring. Badly written and dull. Let's face it the only reason people are watching this is because of Rowoon.…
Except most of South Korea is agreeing they can't act. They are being slammed all over SK forums and the drama is plummeting in the ratings it's that bad.

She can't act. Never could. And she's proving it in spades in this. I laughed in Episode 3 when Rowoon went to touch her and she moved her arm back and gasped and went all wide-eyed. So forced, so fake, so over acted a high school student could do better.

ROTFL. Yep. I was talking to a Korean friend yesterday who lives in Seoul and she had also started watching it with great hope (the girl is a MASSIVE Rowoon fan), and she was almost crying as she says there is NO WAY she can "sit through 12 more episodes of this "bloody garbage". "NOT EVEN FOR ROWOON" :) Apparently her Rowoon-fan friends are all crying the same tears :)
Honestly tho, it's one of the worst acted K dramas I've seen in ages. Even Rowoon's performance is terrible. IMO, it probably has something to do with the director as it's odd to have every major actor give a freakingly terrible performance in one drama.
Very miscast. She is my least favorite Korean actress as it is, but she's terrible in this part. I just finished…
Yep. She was the only bad thing about in Tale of the Nine Tailed, and she hasn't improved in this. And like you said, Rowoon's acting is amateurish too (an easy way to tell is close your eyes and listen to how he says his lines -- it's like amateur hour duing a high school play). :)
Plus the whole drama is blah. I did eventually go back to watch up to Episode 4 -- not funny, not interesting and poorly written. Dropped. Moving on :)
It's so boring. Badly written and dull. Let's face it the only reason people are watching this is because of Rowoon. If a less popular actor had been cast in the part, it would be one of the least-watched K-dramas this year as Jo Bo Ah can't act.
I'm so confused, can you clarify a little bit what you are talking about?
Every culture gets mocked, including Korean culture. That's life and those with a healthy self-respect ignore it. Arabs, however, are butt hurt about anything related to their culture. So much so they have a hissy fit when a character even WEARS an Arab thawb.
Yet you don't see Germans downgrading dramas if a character wears a dirndl, Thais don't launch a troll attack if a Korean character wears a chakkri, neither do the Scots launch an online attack against a drama if someone wears a kilt.
Those nationalities, (and most of the rest of the world apparently) are a helluva lot more emotionally mature than Arabs it seems.
All I know is I now avoid EVERYTHING coming out of any Arab country, because if this is the level of maturity of Arabs, I'm not supporting anything out of Arab culture with my hard-earned cash.
