I'm so happy to see a review like yours! I feel that die-hard novel fans nitpicked too hard (a lot of the novel wouldn't work as a series,) which felt unfair at times. People who said that season 1 was better confused me because season 2 feels so much cleaner? I'm a die-hard Pitbabe fan (I've rewatched it like 5 times), and I was watching with a friend who isn't as big of a fan, and she was saying how much easier season 2 was to understand. From what I've seen those who complained the most either wanted to see more of one ship (because they didn't like Charliebabe), only wanted to see Charliebabe, or straight up didn't like it because it wasn't closer to the novel :/.
