My goodness. I'm not fond of this at all. I find myself skipping scenes now. I'm on episode 9 and annoyed af. I'm going to drop this one now. It's not giving anything but confusion and frustration.
I re-watched this one recently. I still enjoyed it. But I started counting how many times Shang Gu/Hou Chi told Bai Jue it was over; they were even and didn't want to see him anymore. She went back on her own words numerous times. Laughable.
Ok, this is my unpopular opinion. It isn't for everyone, and everyone isn't expected to understand, but Bai Xiao Sheng isn't Caiwei's loyal friend (cray-cray friend). If you know, you know. BXS started liking Jiang before it was determined whether Caiwei would accept Jiang's feelings. It's an eyesore to see a person chase behind someone who has feelings for the "friend" and follow them around until they catch runner-up feelings. Similar to Yan Shuang in the Last Immortal. Yan Shuang's only save is that she knew Yin didn't have feelings for AJiu from the start, but Shuang still followed him as he grew a whole Peach Forest for Yin for over 1000 years. Her pride kicked in late.
I'm on episode 2. "Yang Caiwei became known as the "wicked woman" Shangguan Zhi." Is this worth the watch? Killing off the less attractive YC and putting her soul in a woman who's obsessed with Yue and wicked doesn't sound intriguing.
I should be surprised that today was a filler. Yesterday was an epic episode, so I hoped they would keep us on the edge. I'll consider this a break from all the tears I shed yesterday. But I'm starting to become suspicious of the Heavenly Lord and Her Holiness. They have secrets.
This could definitely be 14 full-hour episodes. I should wait until it all airs and binge it. It's that type of drama to me. Short and intriguing with good chemistry,
