I know it's a novel, and I see how the screenwriter would be drawn to it—no pun intended.

I haven't enjoyed an episode in several weeks. :( I don't know where we lost the sparks. I'm only watching scenes with Park Tae Seo. #Sympathzing

NGPS is pretty, talented, and intelligent. I don't dislike her, but she's not my first choice. In fact, she is so calculating in her thoughts that I don't see how they would romantically mesh. She seems like a good comrade and partner.

Is it the same screenwriter as Joy of Life? I didn't know. I actually didn't complete Joy of Life. I can't remember exactly why, but I know it was something about a female with a chicken leg quarter in the storyline.

I enjoy a good romance novel, and I'm such a selfish lover that I don't always get into polygamy, but I keep an open mind about the period and culture.

Every episode, it's a new character, and we stop seeing other characters... I, too, am forgetting who people are and their names.

Yeah, I agree. Around episode seven I was wondering what happen to the character that was in the first three episodes. He didn't seem as calculating or witty as portrayed earlier.

It's a slow-burn character development. I read he will marry the two main females and another. There is a connection between him and the female lead. Nevertheless, the show doesn't revolve around a love story. I'm on episode 18 and have not seen anything significant.

My first impression of Jiang Ni was that she would be an annoying female interest that followed Xu Feng Nian everywhere, squabbling, but I was wrong. I really like her character. She isn't at all overbearing. She's actually quite subtle, and her actions have meaning with Fen Nian.

However, in every fourth or fifth episode, a fantastic female character is introduced to the storyline. I can't help but be slightly jealous on Jiang Ni's behalf; although she's not showing interest in Feng Nian just yet, it's an apparent connection between her and Fen Nian.

I'm sure when he returns home, we'll start seeing more in-depth relationships between him and Nangong Pu She.

I hope the screenwriter doesn't focus on the different romantic relationships. It's hard for me to keep up with all the new characters, let alone remember the significant relationships with the other female characters.

Okay, thank you for responding! I read that he marries three people Jiang Ni, Nangong Pu, and on other female. So I was wondering what becomes of the storyline and his reason for marrying all three.

Is that a good thing? How does that play out for the female lead?

Is it a fake harem? I've been scroll to read more about his harem. I'm only on episode 7, but it seems like his character would not be interested in a large harem.
