After seeing everyone hype this up and giving it such a high score I went and watched.. and I was rather surprised that I found to be.. just okay? it's an average show. though I struggled to finish getting through the last few episodes. 7/10 at best.

Thig is, that woman already came back as the same actor. Besides, I think they intentionally re-shot the last scene in the classroom with him being taken by the demons as shown in the trailer, to tell the audience 'this is the same character but a different actor, please get used to it' so there is no confusion as to what's going on. it'll just be another case of actor being replaced and we just have to suspend disbelief a little bit more than usual.

He's a side character like most of the cast, he is sprinkled through out with an episode or two dedicated to him in the latter half. For what it's worth he was one of my favourite characters. Worth the watch if you are a fan of him.

I didn't expect anything much from this series, well, it's for the best, because what was shown to us is enchanting…
I think they try to explain the Grade Fs not fighting back as that if they did hit back and left a mark they would be the ones blamed as being a bully and not that actual bullies. it's why the judo girl was throwing her about (which I found ridiculous when she said she didn't have any marks on her afterwards, her back and sides would be black and blue being thrown onto concrete like that) and how most of the stuff they did was degradation, phycological or light physical stuff. But yeah having even 3 or 4 girls in F from refusing to play the game and just teaming up would make the game crumble so fast.

I personally didn't like the ending because it didn't commit to it actually being real. It's the literal 'it was all a dream' ending.
On The Killing Vote Feb 3, 2024
I really hated how they manipulated the ending of almost every episode only to change it at the start of the next. I get misdirects are a thing but it was used way too much here to the point that I didn't believe the ending scenes anymore cause I knew they were misdirects.

Enjoyed the show overall, but I'm not a fan of how they left loose ends setting up a season 2, especially when it's not even been announced that its being made.

Basically a carbon copy of the Japanese 'Werewolf' game movies. Like most of those movies, this is very average. There are a couple of Jinrou manga out there, read them if you want to see this genre done well.

For this type of movie or series to be good it really has to nail the 'who dunnit' vibe, you want to be constantly guessing who the mafia(werewolf) is. There has to be those 'oh shit' moments when the revelations happen. This happened once in the show for me, the who scene with the reveal of who the police person was. other than that, it was very meh.

I notice some are complaining about the "flashbacks" and how the kids needed more screen time; i know that they…
I went into this show blind, I had seen no trailers, clips or screenshots, I saw it was blowing up and being super popular and I just read a quick synopsis that it's about superpowers.

So I had no clue who the "main characters" were. but the show from the very beginning makes you think it's focus is on the kids and the parents are more side story with some shady past and Frank's here to clean up.

So you can see the problem if you start the show like this, it very much gives a false impression up to ep 8. Now this is coming from someone who gave the show a 9.5 because I ultimately I loved it, even with the complete 180 on characters to focus on the parents. I've actually came to love the parents episodes I just needed time to adjust and digest it afterwards.

If I had watched some of the trailers I would seen how focused the story would eventually become on the parents, but I didn't. I don't think right or wrong to either watch or avoid trailers. there is pros and cons for both, and the cons for this show is definitely getting the wrong impression as to who the show was really about with the starting episodes.

This felt like I was watching two half seasons smooshed together that did not earn the tension they were trying to build. Like with the mother and kids getting to the airport, all the time I was thinking how did we go from a fringe religion not even known about let alone followed by the masses, to everyone in Korea suddenly following them and staring and recognising them, and no, the annoyingly long live streamer segments do not justify it, they make it seem like everyone in Korea is now watching this guy..

They tried to do too much in 3 episodes and it's just not realistic with how much time passed, it's poor job trying to portray a quasi societal collapse.

I did like the following 3 episodes a bit more since it was after a time jump and we're no longer trying to jump through hoops to explain why stuff was happening so fast. still not perfect but better.

side note: how can some of these dumbasses in the show think they can just beat people up or pretty much kill them and have that not be a 'sin' ? lol wut? like those stupid kids think they are righteous in beating an old woman to death? huh..?

Ok start, good middle, meh end. Best thing about the show is police girl Ahn Eun Jin, absolute best girl she's so damn cute in this. Not gonna lie, a few episodes in I honestly thought the girlfriend was gonna cheat on ML and then he was maybe gonna have a thing with the police girl.

Disagree, these episodes balanced the A and B plots really well between kids and Frank. once we get into the parents episodes, while I like them, there was no B plot to balance the episodes out.

Well put, better said than I how I tried to come across in my comment. I just don't understand how after he left to go to to his mum at the school that was the last time we saw them on screen together, wtf. I expected at least one scene together at the ceremony or somewhere else. At least throw us a bone, did they get together or not?

Like I mentioned I get they aren't the main characters, but given Bongseoks feelings for Heesoo, and how his powers activited when they got close, they were a clear metaphor for teen hormones and his attraction for her setting them off, I mean come on that water going off in the bathroom cleaning scene is basically a climax joke lol. They were essentially the catalyst for him wanting to embrace his powers. I'm just disappointed we didn't get anything more 😞

Yeah I was a little confused as to how the healing / strength powers were displayed. I either didn't catch it if they did show it or it was explained poorly.

I could of sworn at one point the subtitles over a dossier for Jang Joon Won said he had strength AND healing. Which makes sense in a lot of scenes where he can fight and keep up strength based people. but I took at as while he does have extra strength it's not as much as someone who the pure strength super power like Lee Jae Man and his son and I guessed he was able to beat him in the sewer due to a combination of better fighting ability and his healing over the pure strength. Or how he can rip a friggen van door off against Frank.

But then in his flashback scenes it didn't really show him to have any kind of super strength just the healing. There was the one scene where he busted through the wall but I took that less has him having strength and more of his determination to get to his future wife to save her, and he was just relying on his healing and the brute for of his normal body to smash through. maybe I interpreted it wrong I dunno.

Maybe he was never really trying to kill of any of those gangsters and was intentionally holding back his strength?

Also, his daughter only appears to have the healing ability, no extra strength at all, when every other child we have seen has inherented their parents abilities properly, it's possible she is like Bong Seok in the sense that, like his flying, she just hasn't learned to use and control the strength side of her powers yet. but I found it that to be a bit of a plot hole.

I personally loved this show, it's stuck with me for quite sometime, I think I'll have to give it a watch again at some point. The chemistry of the two leads is brilliant and the commentary on rich Vs poor was quite well done.

I get that Bongseok and Heesoo aren't the main characters, but bruh.. not even getting a scene of them at the end? nothing? I get that maybe their 'moment' had already happened during their fight with the flying guy but I can't be the only one who expected something else between them before it ended?
On Duty after School: Part 2 May 11, 2023
I thought people were being overdramatic about Part 2... they were not. It's very bad, and i'm not just talking about the final episode. From the opening scene of episode 7 i knew something was very off. Part 2 is almost a completely different show. Different in tone, in cinematography, in budget.. the plot holes..

Where did the sergeant go? Where did the 3 kids they find go? Why is there no commanding officer in charge of them? If they never went back to base then the sergeant and 3 kids should still of been with them, if they did go back and thats why they arent with them, then they should of had a new commanding officer, pick a plot hole cause its one or the other.

Alien plot and threat is none existant.. aside from the really dumb opening action scene of ep 7. the aliens appear TWO more times, once in the prison and once to explain a plot point that occurs when they are out on a mission. They dont appear at all in the finale. What even is this.
