Haha I forgot about this show… supposed to be a sequel?? I can see the book and anime being good since it’s harder to do live action type fantasy genre. ty for explaining. I’ll def check out the books because I can see it being interesting and mysterious. The age thing def didn’t help. When I wrote this I think I was 34? It was harder to relate and I get how china likes to really do the age game with actors but sometimes it’s too much.

LOL I can imagine. I’m really glad I stopped where I did before it drove me insane. It’s such a deceptive show making it seem completely diff in the beginning. And it’s not like they slowly push the drama It just all comes up. Then everyone’s IQ drops drastically. I’ve since moved on to love like the Galaxy and what a HUGE difference. I can’t even think of any other dramas I can compare rebirth to. Least the other ones you knew what you were getting into before wasting all that time.

Lol. Ty for the review. The first dozen episodes make it seem like it’s a good witty drama. Then it’s as if someone else took over the production team. They skipped a lot of important scenes ( like when did the emperor even get married ??) just to show the jealous rivals scheming. I couldn’t stop cringing and had to stop watching

I def agree. Took me forever to get to episode 5…. But I think what is really annoying is they changed the structure of the show. Instead of showing chemistry between the two leads and introducing other characters and backstories. It immediately jumps to the super jealous evil women and then jumps to misunderstandings. With AOL that wasn’t until the middle where characters were already fully established. As I’m watching more episodes it’s beginning to slowly come around but just eh

Agreed. Hopefully after this (since yangzi had to fulfill her contractual needs w hr century before leaving ) she will test out diff characters. I think that’s the problem too all the actors are under the same company’s contract so they end up playing the same character.

I think Yang zi had to fulfill her contractual needs with hr century before she left them. It’s like I’m watching ashes of love mixed with love and redemption. Every actor in it plays the same role as they did before.
I had high hopes in this show tho but then you realized the inconsistency and holes in the story (like all of their shows )

I feel like they’ll prob explain things eventually but I don’t know if i’ll make it that far lol. Might just wait and then read a spoiler somewhere. I’m trying to stick with it til least episode 10 and ugh I just hate these stereotypical jealous female characters.

Ty meh my health is what it is. Not much I can do but now I can’t drive so I’m stuck at home.. (epileptic and recently they found a brain mass) so I end up watching everything to waste time lol. CtI’m almost done with nirvana on fire and I have to say I don’t think i’ll be able to watch anything else. This series is so good!!

I hate tv so I haven’t watched it in years… so I just watch dramas and anything worthwhile on streaming services(not much lol). I sw a few Turkish dramas (shows?) and enjoyed them as well can’t remember but when I do i’ll let you know. Lost love was just one issue after another then I was confused at one point hahaha. So I finally figured out all the family members and characters in nirvana in fire lol. I had to rewatch it to figure out who was whom. I don’t mean to sound racist to my own kind but I def got. the faces and names all mixed up in this. I enjoy the convo as well! I’ve had some health conditions where it’s confined me to the house so it’s nice even if it’s typing

Ugh no on lost love in time. I scrolled through and was like ok… then apparently the ending they didn’t fully completely and doesn’t make sense.
W goblin age gap was def my issue. I’m 34 and thinking about liking someone that young gives me goosebumps. It’s hard to find something realistic and mature in Chinese drama romance too… lol I’ve given up and needed to things to watch to fill time. I liked love and destiny since the character developes rather fast.

Lol I basically just scan through shitty ones and read the story line recaps hahah. And ty for the convo too always to know I’m not the only one that thinks a drama rated 8+ is a piece of crap

Hm… well there’s diff dialects and accidents. Like a Southern accent here. But all actors are basically required to know basic mandarin. They also are able to fake the I guess usual accent. A lot of times I can tell where they’re from even when they fake their pronunciation I can still hear it. That is a common thing for Chinese people to know tho (like we know southern accents etc). So I can’t see it being that. Whenever i watch bts videos during filming you can barely hear them and it’s shot in such small spurts. A lot of times they always turn the camera from their mouth/face pretty fast. In the bts they’re also quickly scanning and memorizing lines right before they film a small scene. That’s why I think it’s to maintain the consistency of a dialog.
The FL dubbed voice is so annoying …. It really pissed me off. The romance of tiger at first she does seem annoying but her character development is well done. She really shows true knowledge and emotion unlike this one where she’s just dumb. I dunno why they had to put so much makeup on the secondary ML too… it made my pores clog watching it hahaha

I thought maybe it was cause they film in short spurts and need to voice to be more consistent. But then I saw more dramas with dubbing and I think it’s to add “cuteness” to the character. It’s really annoying when they completely change it or when it really doesn’t match up. Or maybe since there’s so many dramas that come out directors need to rush and make more all the time and the actors can’t remember all their lines. I can’t remember which series but one that was long was filmed in 100 days.

I have no idea why this has such high reviews. It’s basically watching a bunch of 20-30 year olds learning about life, friendship and teamwork. Then ML just cries every time he faces something tough. Now I don’t even want to watch untamed cause tang San scarred me for life lol

This was such a waste of money to make lol.
