Well said! 👏🏻. A well written story from start to end is my bias. I lowered my expectations way down desperate for a HE. I was satisfied because we got it. The ending could have been better yes but the one thing I thought the writers did well , Qing & Chu’s characters stayed authentic from beginning to end. We didn’t have stupid out of character tropes . They’ve become one of my favorite romantic couples .

CHU omg I can’t stop thinking about him. Earlier you put into words wanting him , what we all were thinking but not brave enough to say. . I know I felt the same . His character slayed , the cold exterior, those piercing eyes , his swagger & his unrelenting determination to get what he wants & knowing exactly what to do to get it, was irresistible. Then his whole heart opened up to her. His unconditional love , his all consuming passion & emotional feelings and he embraced them all . The actor Ding XeRen gave a mesmerizing performance.

I agree the ending was not enough for us! The scene could have gone at least a little longer beyond Qing’s look of confusion. I’ll take anything, extra episode, Season 2?

Since you asked, I took detailed notes. I had to find out after watching Ep 16 "Qing is my woman & I will not let anyone harm her" When did she become his woman???

Ep 7 -8 After she talks to fortune teller she starts her project "to awaken his humanity" then the vignettes of her being cute & adorable. This is when it starts for Chu.

Xao Yan & Gongye Qi start noticing changes in Ji Chu

E11: 21:00 When she begs to leave his place. Chu: you approached me & all the things you did are all to help Ji Yun?
Qing: why would I want to stay near a perverted murderer. Ji Yun is everyone's dream guy. Am I not human? She has no clue. Interpreting Chu's micro expressions. He is crushed.
Chu's head slightly down. Wan'er : you know she's not leaving to be with Ji Yun. She wants to go to Jingzi Library. Chu looks up a little. to the maid: is she telling the truth? Yes, your highness. Do I need to follow her? No need if she's going to Jingyzi Library. Chu's eyes look slightly brighter.

E13 He begs his father to punish the Consort Wei. His father says not now. Chu is devastated.
9:40 He scoops up Qing flying her to the roof. He shares painful memories of losing his mother. Being with Qing comforts him. In the morning Zao Yan thanks her for being with his boss.
E14 Invitation to Mindfulness Club, He immediately says he will attend.
