I agree! She's been a smart ruler this whole time. Why would she give him responsibility instead of Shen Du. Lazy writing to give us the ending angst. Writers could have given us more believable justification for that. Wonder if that is how it is in the novel.

I feel like the FL as smart as she is, that she would figure out he is lying and divorcing her to save her & her family. It's obvious to me why for him to switch on a dime from besotted to disdainful & swearing allegiance to Lai Luozhi whom he despises. Hopefully I'm wrong & in last 3 episodes, she figures it out & helps him destroy Lai Luozhi, that be would be awesome to watch.

Agree! He was terrific in White Cat, his cat mannerisms were on point. He also used his own voice in Love You 7 Times, but I could not finish that one. FL acting was not on par with his.
