I just did a rewatch of this movie. I really like it in some aspects, but just realized that this was such a missed opportunity to have the trial play out and give custody to the father who has raised Sora. It would have been a win for the LGBTQ community in Japan to show that love is love and that anyone is capable of loving and raising a happy and healthy child in any family dynamic as long as there is communication. Instead they gave in to the societal norm and had the father be weak and give in to the wife. Not to say that she wasn't a victim of his selfishness in wanting to be accepted by society, but it's all about the child.

I agree that a kiss would have been nice for closure, but at least if they were going to do the dead fish lips kiss, it's better they skipped it.

I see your side only because Amane is still in high school. Age gaps are less important when someone is old enough to understand what they are doing. A 26 year old with a 46 year old is different than a 17 year old with a 30 year old. It depends on maturity and brain developement. Even Minato from Minato's laundromat struggled with his feelings until he was sure of Shin's maturity. We don't know how old the man in episode 1 with Amane really is.

i actually think that sometimes it's divided into episodes when in reality it is more like a movie, so 5 episodes at 20 minutes each is one hour and 40 minutes. Japanese can pack a lot in 5 episodes and some Thai dramas are too long and drawn out.

I'm doing my rewatch because it's better to binge watch and pay attention to details than to wait every week for an episode and forget the minor details. I really realized that Nat Sakdatorn is one of my favorite Thai musical artists (Boy Sompob, Jeff Satur, and Getsunova are on the same list). Now I have to go back and listen to his song (and watch the music video), Rak Tur Khun Diao to remember he really isn't the bad guy.

So many native English speakers can't distinguish between there and their, or your and you're. I think English language learners might have better grammar and spelling. I'm learning Thai, but only use formal because I haven't mastered slang or casual Thai language. I don't want to be too judgemental.

I'm on your side. I thought the original comment of "learn Korean" was harsh, not yours. I am a certified interpreter and translator for Spanish and I know subbing is hard, but if you get paid to do it, it should be done well.

That's kind of a harsh comment considering interfans pay a lot of money to see dramas on legal sites that say English Subs. This site is usually about friendly discussions on dramas.
