The main leads worked well as both friends and lovers their dynamics stayed consistent throughout the story. If they truly lacked chemistry, then how would it even work as friends? Chemistry is subjective, and for me, it was clearly there. The drama wasn’t dull either; maybe it just didn’t suit your taste.

I really enjoyed this one. While it might be disappointing to some because it leans more into slow-burn and slice-of-life drama rather than a romcom, I loved everything about it. From the family to the leads—and, of course, the little girl and the second leads they all hold a special place for me.

The writer didn’t waste anything. You could say the ex storyline could have been wrapped up in about two episodes max. Seokryu told her ex to back off twice before the final confrontation, but because of her mom and her hiding her illness, he kept sticking around. Even so, her feelings for the male lead had already started to develop when his ex was still in the picture, so there wasn’t a need for a time jump.

I miss the family, the leads, and all the characters here 😭. This drama is definitely one of my top dramas this year, and I might rewatch it sooner than I thought ❤️.

They are best friends, and he often does that when they’re together, so I can understand how someone might get offended. However, it goes both ways, and the genre of this drama leans more towards slice of life.

The ending of Love Next Door wasn’t poor it was a happy one. The issue with the ratings on kisskh (MDL) at the time stemmed from a couple of factors. First, many viewers hadn’t rated the drama yet, and MDL is known for occasional glitches that affect ratings, including for this one. Trolls on MDL often give dramas a 1.0 rating, which also dragged down Love Next Door’s score, just like it has for other dramas in the past. As for IMDb, the lower ratings were likely due to the ending not including a much-anticipated scene which many viewers wanted to see. The overall ratings only reflected how people felt after the drama finished, as more people rated it after it ended.

Beauty doesn’t explain why someone might enjoy drama; it’s understandable if you can’t connect with it. This story didn’t turn out to be a romantic comedy; instead, it evolved into a slice-of-life family drama with a slow-burn romance.
