I feel like the ml had chemistry and the acting wasn’t terrible but everything was so annoying once you realize how completely messed up this “family” is. Sometimes for visuals like to make the scenery look expensive/luxury but imo it’s not as bad as reviewers are making it out to be.

Wang passes out infront of everyone so they take him to the doctor and discover the tumor. The brother calls the father and he comes to take wang back but finds out wang is gay and dating yuan so ofc he tries to pay him off but with the incoming comet yoan declines and sees a shaman (or monk) to ask for advice and the paper says to make a wish were the comet will hit on a specific day. Youn promises to be with wang forever if he goes to get surgery in a better town and on the way to the boat, yoans sister tells wang they can’t find yoan. A box yoan gave to wang spills showing contents from their time together and the paper revealing yoan planned to make his wish as the comet fell basically sacrificing himself to ensure wangs safety but at the last minute wangs brother finally convinced his dad to not be a pos (especially since he’s ALSO GAY) and the dad helps wang find yoan and then yeah…it’s an open ending but literally we see the comets falling so I’m pretty sure everyone dies because no one left the town on time except for yoans mom. 🤠 but at least wang and yoan died together? Idk. Maybe they’re going to have special episodes.

Maybe rewatch the show but Akira was crying about being shunned for liking boys and asked his adult male teacher what he does to distance himself from the pain and then kanada says he’ll show him but he has to keep it a secret….what part of that was akiras idea?

There quite literally was a lot…are you serious? That was one of the main issues because (if I’m remembering correctly) the team wanted more romance from Jeff barcode and Jeff was uncomfortable. I’m not one to overlook weird ass age gaps which is why I didn’t even sincerely watch 4minutes. I understand that Thailand age of consent is lower but I just can’t. But playing devils advocate maybe that’s why a lot of Thai fans shipped jeffbarcode considering barcode was technically of legal age? Idk. Not my cup of tea either. I like Kinnporsche for mileapo and biblebuild. I was actually very happy when barcode got a partner his age because I wasn’t going to watch any Jeff barcode content.

I’m using my context clues. If Akira was currently 16 and the incident with his friend happened 2 years ago then quick math says around 14. Same with kanada, if akiras brother is currently POSSIBLY 23 (because Akira never said he was exactly 23) and kanada and hikaru are same age friends then again quick math says 21. I however added a year in both directions to account for any error. So they could’ve been 13 and 21, 14 and 22, 15 and 20

Saying a sexual relationship between a minor who is in a vulnerable position and a fully cognizant adult is exactly the problem here. That should not be normalized or romanticized by saying they were each others life line. Even kanada said himself “who’s helping who” when Akira was pushing him away. Kanada himself recognized the grossness of what he was doing when he said “Hikarus going to kill me” like hello???
It seems you’re being intentionally dense about the logistics of this side relationship because you enjoyed it and want to fight for it but luckily enough! It’s not real! It’s supposed to appeal to viewers that’s like the whole point but if you take the fiction out and look at real life I would hope and pray that you wouldn’t fight tooth and nail for a predatory sexual relationship between a middle schooler and a high school/college student.

I didn’t say it shouldn’t be shown in media because everyone deserves representation however because it is fiction the team involved have full control over what message is deliberately expressed. Even just a conversation explaining why the relationship was wrong could do someone else in the same situation some justice.
Also your whole “I’d rather date a grown adult bs and asshole my age” is really sad because at the end of the day you have a choice and maybe if those are your options just don’t date.
Anyway, you’re the one that brought up Kinnporsche, Kim and chay aren’t even the main story and the few scenes they did get, a sexual relationship was not portrayed. Maybe try a different example? There are actually some to chose from with same if not worse grooming as this series.

I liked the show, and as much as I hate it, that grooming aspect, especially in same sex situations, is often glossed over just like in this series. Although no one may feel hurt or wronged, there’s a lot more physiological damage possibly done than meets the eye. That being said, the main leads were likeable to watch. Akiras character made sense with the bullying and grooming, it’s hard to find self worth sometimes but I think kanata was patient and slightly aggressive enough to awaken something in Akira. Glad it’s over though.

I’m not sure you watched the same show but the exact definition of grooming you provided was shown in black and white through the series.

Akira was vulnerable and quite literally crying asking for help from a family friend and tutor AND ADULT (position of power) and that adults solution was to sleep with a minor and tell him to “keep it a secret”
He then manipulated Akira telling him he would hurt his crushes feelings and ruin two relationships if he were to tell the truth about their “relationship”
Saying “you don’t have to be that honest”

Also in Kinnporsche it was stated (in the show at least) that Kim did not have a romantic relationship with chay BECAUSE of the age gap. He used chay for information and then felt guilty later because they dragged chay into the mafia stuff which put him in danger. but either way the “relationship” between a middle schooler and a grown ass man is never okay, consensual, or romantic.

The term pedophile is used loosely, I will agree but it is easy to understand that people are saying an adult/MINOR relationship, no matter the age, is wrong.

I liked the series honestly but I really thought Chet would get a good guy arc since we got the flashback of Chet and pheem wanting to be brothers but forced to be rivals. I hated he couldn’t be better and live a somewhat happy ending with park but I think to clean the story up considering Chet was a drug dealer and murderer who most likely would’ve gotten jail time they just offed him.

What I got was that pheem didn’t know for sure if he would make it (what if they shot him in the head or drowned him) so to spare than at least a bit of comfort in not seeing him die as well as trying to keep him out of harms way he deviced a plan that whether he lived or died than could continue his life.

I think (and this is just my opinion) that he got super into the punk scene and his love lowkey turned to obsession. He wants to further hi knowledge to support this obsession and became a model just for the funds. If I recall correctly he had no pure intention when becoming a model and was actually scouted after going broke buying so many clothes. Even though he’s clumsy he wants to be able to make pieces that aren’t available and will perfectly match his look. Such as an artist taking lessons even in styles they don’t intend to do like a portraitist taking scenery classes because it’ll enhance their overall ability. So I don’t think he knew he would actually end up working the same competition his school was attending until he was already enrolled in the classes. That’s just my take.

I really hope the last ep isn’t rushed either but it’s looking like it will be.

I think you’re missing a huge point in the story being that the grandfather and ye hai yuan have fallen in love through three different reincarnations. First the boy second his wife and third hai yuan now. He was 100% in love with him but fighting his feelings out of guilt that he was much older as well as in his grandsons body.
Also children are people…weird to insulate otherwise.
