Yes, I really love the relationship between the female lead and the male lead. They trust each other and share a genuinely healthy relationship. There are no silly misunderstandings between them just mutual understanding without the need for fancy words or dramatic actions. The way their bond slowly develops over time feels so real. On the other hand, I don’t like the relationship between Feng Xi Yang and Xia Jing Yan. It feels forced….the way Jing Yan, who’s known as a womanizer suddenly becomes soft toward Xi Yang in such a short time just doesn’t feel natural. Personally, I prefer the story in Susha…which is more complex in terms of mystery, intrusion and betrayal. Compared to that, Jinxiu focuses too much on a forced love story between a selfish princess and a mad emperor. It would’ve been much better if the writer had made Jinxiu’s side story more mysterious and revealed it gradually like they did in Susha.

Unfortunately, it only has around 2,000 watchers and a rating of 7.8. Why is that? So, I can’t help but wonder, if he’s really that good, why does the drama he stars in as the male lead have such low viewer and an average rating? Don’t try to use him as a game-changer here. Sure, he did well in this drama but so did everyone else. I also saw on Weibo that many of his fans were putting down the main leads just to boost his image. Honestly, if it weren’t for LQ and CZY, this drama wouldn’t have received such positive buzz from netizens right from the start. As for the Douban score, that’s meaningless. It’s full of rival fans who downvote and give one-star ratings to dramas they haven’t even watched. I couldn’t care less about Douban score.
