compelling storyline

The acting, particularly by Gyu Young, stands out as she delivers a remarkable performance beyond what I initially expected. Her portrayal adds depth to Seo A-ri's character, making her journey to fame more relatable and engaging.

The series also excels in cinematography, providing a visually stunning experience. Each scene is beautifully captured, creating a visually appealing and captivating atmosphere. I would expect anything more from Flower Of Evil's director.

While the overall storyline is intriguing, at some times I felt that the focus is too much focus on the antagonists. This may have affected the character development of the male lead.

One aspect that made me feel mixed emotions is the reconciliation between the A-ri and her friend, who had previously created a hate page about her. If I have to be honest, it's still hard to believe and accept.

Nevertheless, Celebrity managed to leave a long-lasting impression on me due to its compelling storyline, outstanding acting, and aesthetically pleasing cinematography.

fight for survival...

Agency is a gripping series that delves into the complex world of the entertainment industry and office politics.

The characters are well-written and mature, each battling their demons but supporting each other in the tough, competitive, and often brutal entertainment industry.

One of the highlights of the show is the remarkable performances of the two leads. It's safe to say that without Lee Bo-young and Son Na-eun, this series wouldn't have worked.
Also, the pacing is well-controlled and the arc of the show is just right.

Overall, Agency effortlessly captures a glimpse of South Korea's commercial entertainment industry while highlighting the challenges faced by those who want to make it to the top.

A mess...

I am going to make this as short as possible.

This last season felt very unnecessary in the first place. First big red flag was when 3 actors left after s2 & were replaced. Maybe it's just me but I never got used to the new actors.

Storyline was a hot mess. Imagine adding all this supernatural storyline just for Hye Ryung to make up with her terrible ex husband and grim reapers to kill one of the characters in the finale... It made me spoil with anger since her husband was the worst one out of 3. I mean he successfully knocked someone else up. Pi Young & Shi Eun finding love was probably the best part of this season. I hope for the sake of the actors that season 4 is the last one. They need to stop milking this and free all those actors so that they can do other projects

maybe turning 16 eps dramas into 12 eps dramas is a good idea

This drama was a roller coaster of emotions. I have several complaints about subplots. Spacing at times was over the place. Why did they waste so much time on BDH's cheating husband or BIN's bully (who was pampered by writers)? Give me a good reason why Ina was forced to forgive a girl who bullied her out of the blue because others ignored her (as they should). Dohee deserved so much more and I wish that we had a better insight into her life after dropping that sorry excuse of a man. I can't believe that they dragged these story lines until the last episode. I've made my remarks previously on how leads chemistry isn't chemistrying but it's not actors' fault that their characters got together so late on the series. Also, I don't think the ending is open. It was pretty straightforward. The couple had a child (5 y.o in a clip) and Gwiju was pulled into his memory of them. Although, I wish that they would've had one episode to explain how BGJ survived the fire and maybe how their family earned superpowers in general.

casting >>> writing

there's no much to say about the story. it starts off strong but ends on predictable note, both in terms of the plot and the characters. none of them experience any significant growth as individuals. there's no doubt that the highlight of this drama is the dynamics between the trigger crew. special mention goes to kim hyesoo, who portrayed oh soryong with incredible nuance and depth. similarly, jung sungil delivers an impressive performance that adds weight and charisma to the show. while the storyline may leave much to be desired, the chemistry and performances of the cast make it worth watching.

how to ruin a drama with an ending

i'm going to keep this short and sweet, and say what a waste of potential.
things i liked:
- character driven storytelling
- unique premise
- leads' relationship
- great acting
things i didn't like:
- characters being numb to their past
a lot of things happened to main characters, but they remained the same. the only ones who changed were the side characters (for instance situ).
- horrible cgi effects (but that's given in fantasy series)
- inconstant writing at some parts (e.g: can vampire walk under the sunlight?)
- sad ending
even though the sad ending was hinted at for longest time, i needed an happy ending for my leads. they suffered for the WHOLE series. it makes the whole series feel like a waste of time, and i hope that cdrama writers stop that sad drama ending trend for fantasy dramas set in 19 and 20 century. at this point, i think it's censorship's fault

Why was this digital release only?

Let me start off by saying that despite the prior shooting behind the scenes mess, the leading ladies delivered excellent performances. KGE and JDY truly understood the assignment. Special kudos to Jeon Do Yeon, since this drama is something out of her comfort zone. While the plot was ordinary for me because I’ve watched a lot of dramas in this genre. The clear highlight was the acting. The writing was somewhat predictable. However, my biggest issue with this drama is actually connected to the way it was released. I’m tired of Netflix dropping ALL the episodes at once for series that clearly need to be digested slowly. They don’t even do this for their most popular shows. The saddest part is that if you don’t tune in within the first week, SNS spoils the series for you.

i can't see myself re-watching this

Before I start my rant, I want to say the acting was phenomenal. Everyone was acting like their bills depended on it. It is another drama that worked only because of the leads. If anyone else had been cast in these roles, I probably would’ve dropped it. Kim Go Eun gives one of her best performances here, while Park Ji Hyun, though getting slightly typecast, still pulls it off well. The real issue is the writing. It feels like the script was originally meant for cable, but no network wanted to pick it up, so it ended up on Netflix . This series simply isn't meant for bing-watching. The theme throughout the series is pretty gloomy and dragged out, so viewer can hardly relax. The most frustrating part for me was Cheon Sang Yeon: simply a terrible friend, yet writers somehow expected viewers to sympathize with her, despite her guilt-tripping behavior. Until her last breath, she had no character development, so I ended up feeling guilty for not feeling anything when she was dying.

korean drama or wanna be western criminal drama?

the biggest issue that I've with this drama is that it tries to be wanna be western criminal drama. production company can hire great cast led by an amazing director, but if writing is horrible, rest of the hard work doesn't matter.
also, why do men write women so stereotypically in kdramas? it's painful to watch. generally, i don't give a f*ck how these sorry excuses of men live. they're all dislikable to some degree

Premise Is Better Than The Result

This drama started out great, both in the spacing and acting wise. However, it somewhat lost me in the middle. Not only story wise, but logically. The final nail in the coffin was the ending. It felt too loose, both in terms of character resolution and plot. I needed to know at least how the mailbox even became a time machine. That's the reason why I gave this drama the rating I did. Otherwise, it would've been higher. We didn't even know if characters in 2025 time line ever crossed over.
Overall, it’s a nice step forward for cdramas, where characters don’t have to be portrayed as naive or childish to be likable. I’d recommend this drama to fellow fantasy enthusiasts.

more action, less connection

i hate comparing things, but there are a lot of things different this time around from editing to writing. let me start with the editing. there were two weird cuts connected to really personal scenes. firstly, when others find out about sieun's car accident. instead of seeing their actual reaction to the revelation, we see them running to the hospital. second time the same thing happened was when suho woke up and we probably got one of the most underwhelming first time meeting scenes of all time. that dialogue deserves a death sentence. why did the writer decide to have others join sieun and suho's reunion where they didn't say a WORD? we will never know. also, for the sake of the bond between the friend group, i would've loved a scene where sieun actually opens up about his past to the other guys. was it that hard? other thing that bothered me were over choreographed fight scenes. some looked downright silly. on the bright side, most of the introduced characters were interesting, and i quite liked them. i also liked overall schools' gang plot or whatever you like to call it. most importantly, i'm happy that sieun smiled more than once turning this season.

masterpiece

despite the subject matter (i hate hospitals), this drama was an incredible watch. i don’t think i’ve had this much fun watching a kdrama in a long time. everything was top-notch—directing, acting, cinematography, and screenplay. i loved characters' solo arcs and their dynamics, especially our golden trio YJW, CJM and BGH. also, unlike most kdramas, i can see myself re-watching this show 100 of times

female lead carried

What stood out for me was the female protagonist. I'm enjoying this new trend of female characters being more independent and goal-oriented. Also, kim ok bin did the series justice with her acting. That's what I would like to call perfect casting. I finished it for her character only. To all the haters out there, not every character needs redemption or development. If she was a man, you all would thirst over him.

I choose to be a villain and say that the plot-wise this drama isn't something extraordinary. Honestly, I was prepared for the worst outcome since the same screenwriter wrote my id is gangam beauty. Nevertheless, the comedy aspect of the series is surprisingly well done

stunning cinematography and great acting

first of all, this drama’s cinematography was stunning—dare i say, the best aspect of the show after the acting. special kudos to BJT and ZRN; without these two, the drama wouldn’t have been the same. however, some questionable decisions were made about writing. firstly, WYF’s past took too long to be revealed. secondly, the side couple’s storyline became overwhelming. at first, i wasn’t annoyed by them, but after SHA’s father was diagnosed with alzheimer’s, it felt like they became the main couple instead of WYF and SY. i would have preferred five fewer episodes rather than watching these two dragged-out storylines.
that being said, i recommend this drama to anyone who enjoys stories about men longing.
