1. The Atypical Family could also refer to the scammers. They're not related, but act like a family. 2. The scammers…
I've been re-watching the episodes and noticed that every time he returned to the hospital and saw the yellow door, the camera focused on the CLOCK. It was always 10:40 a.m. The smoke was already appearing when he first walked into the hospital room which was between 10:30 and 10:35 (?).
Perhaps he needs to leave the room earlier? OTOH, maybe it's nothing more than appearing nearby. However, in the 1st two instances, he had already been nearby with her. The mirror scene isn't as clear.
I actually don't like the "fire rescue"connection because the writer has been hitting us over the head with it and in a drama with many small surprises/twists, this would be the most non-surprise non-twist possible.
I like BWMDL's idea that there was another fire would be a great plot twist. It would also answer how "Mom" and "Uncle" knew that she was at the hospital - and why she made the cryptic comment about "I'm not dead yet, so you can't collect on the insurance."
I started my re-watch w/my notebook in hand. Got through Ep. 2 and wondering if I missed certain items.
Man Heum's dream about the ring: I still assume that she was guessing as to its meaning, but did I miss something that confirmed her vision?
Does the viewer know why Da Hae was at the beach at that serendipitous moment? Dressed in clothes inappropriate for a beach? Major clue or did I miss an explanation? [and I really, really am fearful about Grandfather's role because he is the one person that I-na trusts above all}. If writer-nim trashes him, my rating goes way, way down.
the characters are interesting, their histories are interesting but I think the answer to "why can I touch her" is going to be ridiculously inexplicable. Sort of a " it is because we tell you it is" answer. If so, then lazy writing.
I have begun my re-watch w/notebook in hand but "little girl with the dog'"? I don't recall that scene. Please…
I finally re-watched that episode. The girl and boy were of equal height. The child actors are both the same age. Da Hae was in highschool (which, in Korea, can be "19" years old - Korean method - as a senior) while Gwi Ju was in his "early '20s" when he got his girlfriend pregnant/married/worked at the fire station.
Someone posited on tumblr that Gwi Joo actually only been able to go back to moments Da Hae was in this whole…

Writers need to solve this conundrum.
ML believes (his family believes) that he was PREVIOUSLY able to return in time to happy moments simply because he closed his eyes and recalled the event. Are we to believe that that this did not manifest until his happiest moment (birth of I-na) ?? Never prior to that moment? Hmmm. . . if true, cheatsville by the writers.
VS
Currently, he does not time travel intentionally ("close his eyes and recall a memory"). It happens without purpose or thought. And they all involve Da Hae.
If writers don't explain this difference - or, if there is some sloppy quasi-explanation that stretches credulity, then big minus points.
So what will we believe? Did the ML really give her the marriage certificate? Or is it made up or do the guinostas…
The document clearly shows that both signed (sealed) - so if it's fake, she would need to have somehow acquired his seal.
But it theoretically doesn't make sense. If both of them signed in the future, then why would he tell her that it was a "present" (gift). And, thus far, he only time travels to "save" her.
But then, I didn't understand the tulip scene. He sees them, buys them and then is suddenly transported back without having a memory? I guess that's the point - it's not a memory that he can repeat - it happens when she needs to be saved/protected? That's why her story doesn't make sense to him now?
I hope he's smart and smells a rat. I would like to watch a story of cat-and-mouse.
I'm thinking she's lying, I think she realized she could use his power to her advantage because she really needs…
I think her master move was whatever she told her prior two husbands - something about they were the only one who had ever saved her? helped her? I can't recall. Time to re-watch and this time take notes. π
Currently, he is not actually changing anything in the past.In real life, the most accepted theory of time travel…
Whatever door they were talking about - they both understood what it referred to. So, perhaps he has told his father about that particular incident at the hospital.
I'm enjoying the family dynamics and characters, but the "mystery" part is leaving me cold - I really don't care what happened at that school long ago but apparently whatever happened is now tied to the present and the writer is throwing out many puzzle pieces but doesn't intend to even start putting the puzzle together until near the end.

I tried to understand your comment, but time travel . . . .brain freeze. . .not going to try to figure it out.
When ML said something to his father about the "event at the door" (can't recall the exact phrase), do you think he was talking about the door in the hospital? I thought it referred to something we haven't seen yet, but your comment re that specific door made me wonder.
The end of episode four was so dang stressful. I'm almost getting Miss Ripley vibes of a scammer FL playing her…
The only plot twist that would satisfy me at this point is that he is on to her scam. I will be disappointed if ML turns out to be a lovesick fool this early in the drama.
There's something about it, right? Maybe being highly rewatchable? Or well written story?
There were a couple of tiny plot holes, but overall the story ebbed and flowed in a plot that was plausible albeit outrageous.
I just finished "Queen of Tears" ((don't recall if you watched/commented? so you may totally disagree) but loved it for the same reason - a roller coaster of emotions, plot twists and jaw-dropping cliff-hangers.
Two years ago, I was watching this on my small screen computer/laptop via VPN - and people would comment on certain things (like the marks on a wrist) that I could not see.
Today, I'm re-watching on my lovely big-screen TV thanks to Hulu/Disney+ and damn, but this show is still as remarkable as it was two years ago.
It was just so damn funny, mocking the usual tropes. It was a drama with heart - but there were only small glimmers in the beginning. Crazy, frenetic with a classic pillow fight that will go down in kdrama history. Love, Kathryn51. π₯°π₯°π₯°π₯°
10β - very rare for me. Why? Because I enjoyed watching - and re-watching. They said it would be a roller-coaster and they were right. Steep climbs, breath-taking descents, with lots of plot twist and turns. If you are viewer who wants very linear (point A to B to C) story-telling, this may not be for you.
This may be a repeat post, but it just showed up on my twitter feed - shows the "final" scene flower/cake celebrations for most of the main actors. My favorite is the four parents - the last scene they filmed was the one with the RV and farm equipment. π
The main leads were so in love , so why did they get divorced . The issue is not getting divorced and divorce…
"The main leads were so in love , so why did they get divorced ."
Because???? they are human? Because they had wildly different expectation of what marriage and commitment truly require to be successful? Because. . . lots of reasons and that's what the writer was trying to convey. A solid, successful marriage is really, really difficult. It requires ccompromise, communication, sacrifice. In my marriage, each of has had to take on 90% of the burden, depending upon the circumstances.
This drama is not the most overrated drama ever even though the writing maybe a little flawed.
I might have little quibbles with the writing or small wishes for either more info or less filler, but I didn't think it was flawed at any point. Sixteen episodes - "cliffhanger" required at every episode. Very, Very difficult task and I thought they pulled it off.
They were "connected" throughout the drama. It was a roller-coaster. The synopsis is accurate: βQueen of Tearsβ will tell the miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story of this married couple, who manages to survive a crisis and stay together against all odds."
I was nervous to watch this one because of reviews but I love love LOVED it. the first few episodes were the hardest…
Reviews can be helpful (one reason I never watched CLOY) but we are all individuals, with individual tastes, filters, passion (whether for a particular actor or a particular writer or genre) . I absolutely loved it. Not every single minute, but the overall story, romance, family interaction, character evolution. It's definitely one of my Top Five.

But otherwise, this show is pretty bad - I guess it's intentional (those evenly spaced freckles??) but not worth my investment of time.

That's why. ππ
