OH MY GOSH NUMBER 6! I dunno if y’all seen Missing 9, BUT HE LEGIT DOES ALL OF THOSE. And at the end. They forgive him, invite him back to the group, and have a mothereffing painting party.
Or let’s talk about Boys Over Flowers where Jun Pyo is an emotionally abusive jerk, but we’re just supposed to forget that and ship him. Whatever, it’s not like he ISOLATED HER FROM THE WHOLE SCHOOL JUST CUZ SHE DONT LIKE HIM. Oh and I guess were supposed to forget he NEARLY DROVE A KID TO SUICIDE. But it’s whatevs, like he’s hot right? Oh wait...he doesn’t even have that going for him.
Oh and Sassy Go Go (actually love this drama, but this drove me crazy), where Soo Ah, tries to KILL Yeon Doo, at least once. I mean arguably twice with leaving her in the woods. But it’s chill, she’s a pressured student. I guess that’s normal behavior for pressured students? To become psychopathic killers? Or near killers?
Soooo many dramas do this and it drives me up the wall if you can’t tell. Crying and saying sorry, does NOT excuse you. It doesn’t change the past, and it’s toxic in dramas to make it seem like it does, especially when abuse and murder is involved.
I felt so bad for Lee Jun Ki his situation isn't funny at all. When he was being beaten for real I was like man…
Oh no you’re not. Honestly, I don’t think the writers thought it was funny either. I think this whole drama, is one big satire. Dressed in comedy, but pointing out big issues in our society. I think the writers were pointing out how ridiculous it is, for Hee Ja to barely get reprimanded even tho, she’s put people in the hospital. It’s a realistic way of showing, how the low-man’s life isn’t valued, in a situation that could and probably had happened. I think it was meant to be satirical.
As someone who works a low-wage job, and is working towards their dreams, I relate to this show on a personal level. Especially Joon Ki. While I’m not going into acting, starter positions really are treated crappily. This show does a really good job of being true-to-life, yet endearingly hilarious and optimistic at the same time. I’m really loving it!
I personally loved it, and no the star power was not the reason. I’m also not 14 lol I’m an adult. I loved…
You may still feel the same, I know that there are some shows I just don’t get that are super popular (strong woman for example. Really don’t know how that’s popular). But I’m glad that my comment at least provided prospective.
Someone please explain to me why this show is so highly rated ?It was one of the first shows I watched on my kdrama…

I loved it because of a couple things. I’ll break down the main reasons.
1. Reporting. The idea of finding stories, and reporting them, and keeping them true fascinates me. Soooo often I see reporting twisted (especially where I’m from), so a show dedicated to showing how impactful reporting is and how we shouldn’t treat it as a joke or entertainment, really stuck with me, especially since I’ve seen what happens when reporters are careless (in general, not effecting me personally lol) 2. Family. Soooo many kdramas the family is all evil and awful, and just unbelievable. The Grandpa, dad, in ha, and dal po are all so believable. They’re relationships feel so real and true to life, how an actual family might work (not nuclear, but ya know what I mean). Then the problems weren’t over the top. Yah the Mom abandoned her kid, but that happens, and the love from Grandpa and dad make up for it. Yes Jae Myung is a killer, but he does such a good job of making you sympathize with him, and his relationship with Ha Myung is really touching. 3. The leads, and characters in general. All felt well written to me. I adored them all. I never had to put up my phone. I loved all their interactions. Special mention to the leads, In Ha and Dal Po. I adore In Ha and her hard work, and just true to life after college problems. I love her honesty, and her optimism. I also love that she’s her own person. She has a story with her mom, and isn’t just there to take care of Dal Po. Speaking of Dal Po, I love him. I found his reaction to his brother quite realistic, and thought he was portrayed in a very accurate manner. He’s also my favorite type of character, human yet admirable. We see him struggle, but he also makes the right choice, and I love that too. Both the leads are amazing and I love seeing their relationship grow.
Overall, I think it’s very worthy of its praise, and I’m typically harsher on popular dramas. To each their own tho. I tend to love social commentaries, and the fact this one had great characters and family themes just made it so much better for me :)
How is it a 7.5? Y’ALL IT HASN’T EVEN STARTED. Maybe it’ll be an amazing remake, while rare, those do happen! Goodness, y’all need to at least watch a couple episodes before judging...
There might be 10. Dramafever says 10. And Haha I agree. Seo Ji Hoon especially! He makes me swoon!
Haha I’m fresh out of high school so it doesn’t bother me lol. I am trying to get my degree to be a teacher tho, so every time there’s a “romantic” scene between jung Shin and ji soo, I cringe so hard lol.
