So I picked this back up after dropping it for a while. And it seriously disturbs me that people actually ship Chae Kyeong and the King. Don't get me wrong, Yeok isn't the perfect boyfriend, but if I had to pick between him and the king, I'd pick Yeok hands down. There's just such a clear difference between the two. At the end of episode 10, we see the King outright claiming that Chae Kyeong is his, he's king and he can take what he wants. Not only does he say this, which is bad enough, but he proceeds to forcefully kiss her, when she clearly doesn't want it. This obviously files under sexual harassment. Yeok, yes he messes up. And yes he was inconsiderate about the whole prophecy thing, like dude it's her family. I don't blame her. BUT. When trying to win her heart, he doesn't just want to claim it. And yes he is given the option to tell her that she has no choice, but that isn't how he wants their relationship to work. He wants BOTH of them to choose each other. Yeok has his flaws, but he's getting better, and wants their relationship to be built on trust and love. Chae Kyeong's relationship with the king is abusive and possessive, and I can't fathom how anyone can ship them, no matter how pitiful the king may be.

There are a lot of brilliant Korean Actresses but they don't always get the right roles/roles that they are suited…
I don’t think all k actresses are average. I personally love lee bo young, kim so Hyun, yoo Jung (gosh is that her name? Child role in moon embraces the sun), kim hee sun (angry Mom Mom?), ji Hyun, and others are great actresses. I do think however, that a lot of actresses are casted into the same type of role, and therefore can’t really improve their acting skills. My statement wasn’t personal against the actresses, it’s more against how kdramas are written with females typically being bright, cheery, support to male lead or ex girlfriend from hell.
For real on Jong Suk! Like I follow him, not cuz he's attractive ;p, but because his dramas are usually really good (I loved pinnochio and i hear your voice), but his characters all give the same vibe! Like he does that character well, but the guy needs range. I wonder if he can do other characters, or if he just picks similar characters. But then I've seen dramas, where on paper, the character seems the same, but the actor brings a totally different vibe...

For real?? The side characters I loved the most were lil bro and Dae Gu. They really should've gotten more screen time. I thought, that when lil bro (I don't know his name ^^) was real hesitant about asking his brother Jae Chan for help, that they would get more screen time. But no. They didn't. But seriously they're moments were so cute though, like how they stuck to each other at school, and when lil bro was comforting him during the case, and the whole part at the convenience store together, and dae gu meeting lil bro's girlfriend. Ugh. I need more. Can they have their own drama please? What were your favorite side characters?
I'm almost done with this drama, and tbh I'm disappointed. They spent so much time on the leads, and forgot to delve into our interesting side-characters. Woo Tak, lil bro, Dae Gu, and Inspector Choi are all great characters, that should've gotten more screen-time.
I absolutely love the way Ma Yi Deum is written and portrayed as a character. Drama writers, we need more of these…
I 99% agree with this comment, but I have a question. You know the part where the pedophile is waving the knife around? And Yi Deum accidentally gets stabbed. Before she tripped, was she trying to push Yeo into the knife? Like not push both of them away, but push him into the knife, because a stomach wound is slightly better than a heart wound? I really want to ship them, because besides that they're adorable, but if my assumptions are right...then she nearly got him killed...
I don’t get the characters problems with main girl revealing he’s gay. Yes it hurts the victims feelings, and future. BUT. If she didn’t they wouldn’t have won, and then a rapist would be on the loose. She would rape more unsuspecting boys, and so many more lives would be hurt. Yes this one person is hurt, but better than 10 others. She was doing her job and I don’t get their problem.....
You know what the sad thing is? The things the male rape victim goes through are so real. Telling the victim “you’re a man you enjoyed it. Why didn’t you push her?” And other hurtful comment are so real. I used to follow this page on Facebook, a page dedicated to memes. And I swear, one of the memes had a LITTLE BOY pinned by 3 girls, who were clearly going to unzip his pants. The caption stated, something along the lines of how he’s a boy, and the administrator would have no complaints. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Was this page promoting rape? I then checked the comments. And people AGREED. In fact more people agreed than disagreed. Saying “he’s a man, he should enjoy it” “I wish 3 ladies would like me” and other comments similar to those. Do you know what the worst part is? I’ve seen this meme on other pages too. I’ve had to unfollow 2 very popular pages for this. On both pages, the comments were the same. I feel so bad for our male rape victim here, because not only is it sad, but it isn’t even exaggerated. When males get raped they are told that they enjoyed it, that they should’ve stopped it. That they’re pathetic. Thank you Witch’s Court for tackling such a big issue, and displaying it in such a real way.
I just finished episode 2 and can someone explain to me why the PROSECUTION was telling the VICTIM that he wanted to be raped?? For a second I thought she was a lawyer and I misunderstood, but no she clearly says at the end that she’s a prosecutor. Why would she blame him like that in trial?
