eps 9/10: Boring. He's getting to be a bit like one of those friends that gloms onto you. i don't really…
Hmm..I disagree. I can understand why he would show up at her work. Also, he's 19 and probably never had a job, so it may be hard for him to understand the work world. While I found him being overly jealous over the first time showing up to her work, and being clingy, I can understand the second time. The second time, he was sad that his brother truly does not want to see him. I mean that's got to hurt, especially since he's done so much. And the last time he showed up, he didn't barge in, he was just waiting outside. But I agree, the first time was a bit ridiculous and immature.
yah, I thought it was weird that he literally gave her ONE lesson in cooking, and then was like "so I have this test for you, to see if you're ready to be a leader" Like, if she's gonna make masterful food, wouldn't she need more time and training?
Lol, I don't care for their relationship, I don't see why he likes her and is obsessed with her, there's no substance lol.
Eps 9-10 is a bit of a let down, nothing much important happened but what disappointed me the most is his reunion…
You've hit the nail on the head. While I didn't hate these episodes, and certainly thought there were cute moments between our leads, I was disapointed by their reunion. I get that Soo Ji was 7 and Young In 12ish, but shoot I think I would be more emotional about my grandmother (who passed away when I was Soo Ji's age), than they were about their sibling. I mean they saw their sibling every single day, not just on holidays, ya know? Like, no hug, no crying, no "I missed you," etc. I mean I get it if they aren't sobbing, they were young, but it would be nice for them to at least hug him, and say how they wished they got to know him more, and would like to makeup for lost time, ya know? The scene could've been way more touching like the friends reuniting (which made me cry, and I rarely cry in dramas), or him and Hae Chul reuniting, him and Jung Won reuniting, or even the simple meeting of him and Young In in the hospital. Hopefully, we'll get touching scenes with them later on.
Oh my gosh, that hurt so much. And when he was walking to her work, and crying, I was like "my heart....." He cares so much for his siblings, and did so much, so it must be such a huge slap in the face for his "brother" to say that he doesn't want him to even acknowledge his existence.
Yah. I think the drama would be at its best if it focused: family, romance, and then friends. The heart of this drama should be at the family, or at least both the family and romance. I wish it was equalized more, instead of being so romance/love triangle heavy.
Teacher Shim: I think you've done well.
Tae Woon: *misses shot* Well that was a first.
Me: *internally thinks he's gonna say some remark, like it's the first time he's missed* *heart breaks a little cuz i know he's flustered*
Teacher Shim: A first for what?
Tae Woon: The first time someone's said I've done well.
Me: *starts to think about all the terrible things Dae Hwi has said, how his relationship with his dad isn't the best, and how he probably doesn't even like himself* Heart is fully broken.
Omg. Dae Hwi and Tae Woon need to makeup asap. You can see that it is heavy on BOTH of them, not just Tae Woon. Whenever Tae Woon acts like a snobby rich boy, in Dae Hwi's point of view, you can see how betrayed he looks. Like he takes it personally from him, not just another snobby rich kid, it's his best friend acting like that, and it hurts. You can also see when Tae Woon says something along the lines of "I've hated you since then," that Dae Hwi does look hurt (even though he says that all the time lol). But it is also, and more clearly, hard on Tae Woon. He'll act mean and tough around Dae Hwi, but whenever he turns his back, you can see this is really paining him. When he's on the ledge, and he's crying and saying "you don't know how hard it's been for me all this time" I don't think, no I know, he's not just talking about his friends death. He's also talking about that instead of becoming closer to Dae Hwi, and having someone to mourn with in this terrible time, instead he's fighting with Dae Hwi. Tae Woon and Dae Hwi didn't just lose Joon Gi that day, they lost each other. They can't bring Joon Gi back from the dead, but they can repair their friendship. I hope the boys make up and forgive each other, cuz in this hard time of grief, what they need most is each other's support.
I am so confused right now. Can someone tell me who the real X is????
Really? I disagree. Tae Woon seems really nervous when asking Eun Ho who she saw in episode 6. Also, he seemed a little too eager to make sure Eun Ho knows that it was him all along. I think Tae Woon became X when trying to save Eun Ho (the flying principal drone), but it was Dae Hwi before. Also, the slide show, was totally a Dae Hwi thing to do. Tae Woon would just make it a joke, but Dae Hwi would make it funny and then tie in a lesson. I think part of the reason Tae Woon is now X is to protect Dae Hwi, and also to stick it to his dad.

Yah, there was no hospital trips or death, but yah it was. After watching ep 5 tho, I can understand Dae Hwi too. I mean I haven't had a super close friend die, or have the system turned against me, but I can definitely see why he is so frustrated, and how that would jade his view. And lol, Tae Woon is my fave too, haha his little smiles around Eun Ho are the cutest thing XD
Haha I want Dae Hwi and Tae Woon to make up, and for all of them to be best buds again lol.

Haha I will! lol I had fun theorizing with you ;)
Yes Dong Yoon excels at making me hate, and then love his characters. It's usually when he breaks down crying that he wins me over lol.
Haha, I get that. But for me it's opposite. I actually relate to Tae Woon more. There was an incident that I had self blame for (no deaths involved) and I can't even imagine what he's going through. Hell already have survivors guilt, and blame himself in general, so it must really hit home when Dae Hwi, his once best friend blames him. It hurt for me, and there was no death, so I can't even imagine what he's going through. That's why I get a little hard on Dae Hwi sometimes. But, after ep 5, while I'm slightly frustrated I can understand his point of view much better, and that's largely due to the great acting of Dong Yoon. He's so new, but does so well.

I remember you! We theorized on Solomon's Perjury together! And thanks chingu! Haha, I've thought a lot about these characters, especially Ji Hoon, and eventually Dong Yoon wins me over with both. Lol, at first I hated Dae Hwi...but then after seeing him sobbing over Joon Ki...I couldn't find it in myself to hate him any more. I really love how Dong Yoon brings to life, these characters and makes them likable, pitable, and frustrating all at the same time. I find myself getting frustrated at Ji Hoon and Dae Hwi, but can't bring myself to hate them, and end up liking them. Takes talent to do that if you ask me.

Gosh. Dong Yoon, is always playing characters that I can't 100% hate or 100% love. In Solomon's Perjury when he left his friend on the rooftop to die (well not to die...but left his suicidal friend on the rooftop), I was infuriated. How could he do such a thing?? Who in their right mind, or even in their not so right mind, would ever do that?? But at the same time, I found myself pitying him and admiring his efforts to make everything right again. While I never fully forgave him, I did find myself liking and pitying him at the same time.
Well now he's back in School 2017, and I'm having similar feelings. I really don't like the fact that he's called Tae Woon a murderer. That's just such a heavy burden to place on someone, and most people don't deserve it. BUT I do find myself, sympathizing with him and how unfair the school system really is. Most dramas overdramatize the rich and poor spectrum, but here, it's just so real. Dae Hwi and Joon Gi never stood a chance, simply because they were poor. Dae Hwi works so so hard, but still can't really get to the top. We can't say he's poor because he's lazy or dumb. No he's smart and hardworking, but that simply isn't enough. I can see how his friends death would really highlight the fact for him, and frighten him, that because he's poor people will think they can trample on him. I mean the newspapers tore Joon Gi apart, without mentioning that he saved many people's lives, and there was another teenager recklessly driving (albeit the accident was caused by Joon Gi). That would be a rude awakening for Dae Hwi, who has similar financial status as Joon Gi. Look. I don't agree with him calling Tae Woon a murderer, and blaming his friends death on him. That's not ok at all. But I can see why he's pissed, and I think every time he sees a social injustice, he's just reminded of that accident. I believe all of this pent up anger, is jading his view on Tae Woon, instead of judging the situation fairly.
Once again, Dong Yoon delivers a character that is definitely flawed, and does things that would normally make me hate the character, but still manages to make the character human and relatable. Do I agree with everything that Ji Hoon and Dae Hwi have done? No. But I can appreciate, that just as there is negative parts, there is positive parts. And both of those boys are trying very hard to do their best, in a very cruel world.
But...not Slytherins aren't ill-meaning...usually Slytherins are very ambitious, and will do anything to achieve what they want. This means they can be ruthless, but it doesn't mean that they're trying to cause harm. TBH, it doesn't matter though, cuz its a fictional world. Just trying to clarify :)
Right?? Even the ones where there are two female best friends, it's usually not as deep as the male friendships, and the female best friend is there for comedic relief and occasional emotional support. Her whole character is being the friend, and she has no life of her own. I really want a drama where two females have the same type of deep friendship that the males had. As someone who has been best friends with someone since we were three, and we are both currently adults, it is very possible for females to form close friendships.
the mother in laws are the most annoying pieces of crap on the planet. it is none of your business if he's dating mi jung. they are both in their 30s and 40s, and can make their own decisions, stop being so damn interfering.
Loving Hae Chul's single teen dad arc. So refreshing and heartwarming.
I love Hae Chul dad scenes! He's trying so hard to be a good dad, and you can see that he really cares for his daughter :) I hope things get better for him!
@Kasjady, and I agree Dong Yeon seems to be the only one so far, besides jin goo of course, that is more than an average actor. Can't wait to get more scenes with him!
Omg! Episode 8 was the cutest and funniest episode ever and then they had to do that at the end!!! WHY???? I love…
Haha, I love to see Hae Chul warm up to his brother :) It makes me so happy! And I agree, Elsa is literally the cutest thing to grace the earth lol. "do you guys live together, your shampoo smells the same" omg, what is she like a miniature sherlock XD so cute.
I agree, I like how its not all about the romance, and its showing the siblings lives and how they were effected. I was worried this would be all romance, but it shows the friendships and family stories too :)
