1) What is considered feminine or not is a social construct, it's not even the same in every age or culture and it's certainly not something women, whether real or fictional, need to live up to. 2) Commenting on JGS's weight in this manner is really unnecessary, it has nothing to do with his performance as an actor.
Rewatches can sometimes make you wonder what you liked about it in the first place, or, sometimes, what you disliked. Fun idea for an article!
(Just letting you know there seems to be an edit mistake in the first "Then" piece:
"but I ended up loving this drama to death. I thought it was sweet and adorable. I did have death. I thought it was sweet and adorable. I did have an issue with".
I was a little surprised, wondering what you meant by having death and why'd you find it sweet and adorable, until I realized it wasn't supposed to say that ;)
No 1 & 2 may not be that wellknown internationally these days, but they're both extremely wellknown in Korea. Yoon Si Yoon is famous for King of Baking which had record high ratings of 30% :)
The K2 and ManxMan are pretty infamous as being hot messes though, so they'd likely just scare people away lol.
I've managed to hook people on kdramas with My Love From Another Star and if people like harcore crime shows I tend to recommend OCN shows. If people like serious shows, then something like The Good Wife or Misaeng are good bets I'd say :) Pinocchio and I Remember You would probably also be great ways to get people hooked.
Another recent drama that qualifies is The Liar and His Lover. He may have been a jerk at times about his music, but once he fell for her, he was always concious of her and her feelings, realized his mistakes quickly and went to apologize immediately. And he was never forceful in any way.
Shopping King Louie was also very sweet, supportive, honest and upfront about his feelings and I don't remember him being forceful.
Some older dramas that I seem to remember having male leads that weren't forceful and :were more honest and supportive:
- High School King of Savvy
- Witch's Romance
- I Do, I Do
- Modern Farmer
- My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
- The Lover
- Triangle (well, he was a thug in the beginning, but I don't remember him ever using force and he was always supportive etc. Not a perfect example, but he's definitely not a typical jerk-male lead imo.)
It's interesting, because most of these are noona-romances or otherwise have the element of age-difference.
