I just watched episode 1 & 2. I think I understand why so many people felt it doesnt hold the same emotional weight as the original chineses series. The Cdrama aired over 40 episoded with each episode +/- 40 mins and the Kdrama is +/-60mins over 16 episodes, because of this the kdrama's telling of the story is paced differently from the od Cdrama. I think we can expect to see many people who will prefer kdramas and faster paced shows with fewer episodes who will apreciate this but we wil also see many fans of the classic who are seeking to feel the nostalgia of the og cdrama who might feel the show is rushed or lacking if the same elements are not delivered.

On another note it was interestingy seeing the new elements they have brought into the show to being in that classic kdrama feel and i am excited to see what other changes they bring forward into the show. I am keeping an open mind,I really hope they deliver something worthwhile.

He was in the og, he was a police officer. He was often quite busy with work.

Do I need to wait for season 2? Are they connected?
You can watch season 1, it doesn't end on a cliff hanger. I think season 2 will just continue the story of season 1 but its not necessary to wait for.

We are getting a season 2 in 9 days, so hopefully we get to see more of Thomas and his story.

the fact this is rated so highly... and yall are out here rooting for the girls to get together? go watch an actual…
I was so excited for a new gl but honestly after watching EP1 I'm not rooting for them as a couple at all. After what Rangrong did to Sai, I just can't see it happening. It appears that this show might just be queer baiting ( but that remains to be seen). Personally, I'd rather it not be a queer bait. I would prefer to see character development and see Rangrong overcoming the trauma from her marriage, meeting a woman that actually appropriate for her to be with and her realising the trauma she is inflicting onto Sai. As for Sai, thus far she hasn't given an indication of being queer but if she does later on, I just hope it's not with Rangrong because that would be a very toxic and controlling relationship based of Rangrong in Episode 1.

I noticed in kdramas they have portrayed psychopaths' to have the ability to emotionally attach or attract to…
This thinking feels a little too one dimensional for me. There are just too many sources on psychopaths some describe how they 'feel' or think similar to your way others are contradictory. This is because in life no 2 people are the same, this goes for psychopaths too. What you have described maybe true for some but it doesn't mean it is true for all. Psychopaths' do feel emotions (sometimes they are more muted) but they lack empathy so they have trouble feeling emotions toward other people. They may or may not understand their emotions it really depends on the individual & the environment they were raised in. Psychopaths tend to do better in society than sociopaths. Now is the inmate behaving like what some people may deem a "typical psycho", no. However, his response to his mother makes some sense what he's feeling might not be love but she did raise him & psychopaths can attach themselves to someone. Him crying could be a response he's subconsciously trained his body to do because its what he had learnt in society to be the "right" response for the situation. His "concern" might not be real concern- if something happens to Mi Ho, there will be no one left to help him so his response transfers his concern for himself over to her, Also in end its still just a TV show so writers & directors might just have taken creative liberty with his characters to make us more interested & so stirred him from the "typical psychopath behaviour narrative"
A theory of mine is that it is possible he is not a psychopath at all. What if he posed as a psychopath serial killer & took the fall for the Chairman's son who they have mentioned is a serial killer.

what if he is actually taking the fall for Chairman Kang's son
One of my thoughts too, it would explain why he doesn't behave the "typical" way people expect a psychopath to behave. Also how his mother was receiving treatment before her death & how his siblings were able to move into what looks to be a high-end apartment building & get an expensive car.

Honestly I am not disappointed with this show. My only concern is that there's 2 episodes left but still so much to unpack. Will they rush it, unpack it well, leave us on a cliff hanger for season 2 or what? EAWYW had so much to unpack in the last 2 episodes I didn't think they would do it well & then they announced an expected season 2, I expected a cliff hanger but fortunately they concluded it well enough (left us with a satisfactory ending but still still potential plot lines to explore should they make the second season).

On a separate note Jerry is so hot!!!! I don't tire of seeing him on screen. Not to mentions Chang Ho's outfits have been popin' off (I love it, he looks so good).

Those two episodes were so underwhelming. I have many things in my mind I'd like to comment on, but I'm forgetting…
Okay so no disrespect but I think you have missed a bit while watching this or maybe I should say let me share my interpretation of what you have shared.
1. Lets talk about Park Yoon Gab. He needed to maintain a certain image to be closer to Mayor Choi & the VIPs, if he was openly against them, they would have involved him/informed him of some of their plans for Chang Ho when he was in prison & its possible they would have removed him from his position & replaced him if he rebelled against them or refused to do what they wanted. It was necessary for him to appear as someone who would do anything for month. Another way to look at him is to assume he is also money hungry, he could just be someone money hungry who also is working with big mouse for a reason. We already know the people working for big mouse are not the most moral characters either (despite whatever cause they are fighting for), we know this because they have discussed how they are willing to do anything to achieve their goals (including murder). So just because Park Yoon Gab took bribes & worked with Mayor Choi & the VIPs it doesn't mean he doesn't believe in what Big Mouse was fighting for, some of his actions can still be explained. We already saw how much he was willing to do for Big Mouse.
2. Lawyer Kim, we have been saying from the beginning that he was sus & yeah the show proved it by revealing he was working for Big Mouse. There weren't any "good reasons" for him joining big mouse, well yeah because they haven't shared it yet or maybe he just believes in what ever cause big mouse was selling but again it hasn't been covered yet so we can't really speak on that yet. Hopefully they will address that in the show, if not that will be a gap/plot hole I will be disappointed to see. Also it is possible that the people working for Big Mouse probably lost someone either directly/indirectly due to Seo's paper & the experiments involved in it, so Big Mouse could have collected people who are looking for justice for their lost ones (this is just a theory tho).
3.The 'psycho inmate' display of emotions (specifically his concern for Mi Ho & love for his mum), now I have seen this "trend" in kdramas where they display psychopaths' & sometimes give them a strong emotional response to someone (like the one in Taxi driver or Vincenzo, Suspicious partner), so I don't think its very surprising here. I also took the liberty to google in the past when i was curious about this in previous shows and a few sources that I looked at shared that psychopaths' do feel emotions. However they don't understand empathy (some sources argue that this stops them from truely loving someone because they because they question if you cant empathise with someone how can you love them? Others state contradictory). Some sources said that psychopaths have been known to cry at the death/loss of a loved one. So I don't think its so far fetched for the inmate to be worried about his mother as she is the one who raised him, he would have developed an attachment to her (even if its not love). How fast he seemed to show concern for Mi Ho was a little weird but she was helping & treating him so perhaps he had some kind of appreciation for that.
Now this is a theory but the sudden mention of the Chairman's son & that he was a serial killer (in the flash back we saw he killed a woman, so probably move women as well). What if the inmate is not a psycho serial killer? Maybe he took the fall for the Chairman's son. In return they would see to his mothers treatment & maybe they also gave money towards his siblings. It would explain how the siblings were able to move into what looks like more luxury apartments & drive an expensive car. If this is the case it would explain why he has more "emotions" that people have been talking about.
4. No Park (Big Mouse) now its been said many times in the show but Big Mouse had operated from the shadows so obviously while he was Big Mouse he wasn't going around & people weren't bowing in front of him like a "typical gang" as you stated. Now when it comes to Chang Ho he allowed them to bow publicly because he knew he was being followed at wanted Mayor Choi to know so they could pull off his ploy as revealed in later in the episode. After that Mayor Choi is aware & the Chairman is dead so he doesn't need to hide it, more so he probably needed to show his power at the end because he know they will be going up against each other.
5. And as for why Chang Ho chose to work with Yoon Gab I can't say for sure in Chang Ho trusts him. Maybe he is good at reading people & so he knew he would come through or maybe it was a risk he was willing to take to achieve his means. Also its not like he could have used another member of Big Mouse following because its unlikely Mayer Choi would approach someone unknown to carry out his instruction to kill Chang Ho.

Am I the only one who see the plot twist? The real serial killer n psychopath is the late Elder Kang real son…
I don't know if this what they will do but I would like them to take this path, it would close up some of his characters plot holes.

It feels like there is so much left to take place and just 2 episodes left, I hope we don't get left on a cliff hanger and are told to wait for season 2.

On another note seeing that Mi Ho is sick now, it could create the potential for another ending maybe one where she dies and Chang Ho decides after to take up the mantle of Big Mouse permanently to put a stop to the 'bio weapon; stuff & everything else, & work to stop corruption like that from taking place in the future. I don't think this is what will happen but it would make for an interesting ending.

At this point, I'm not even sure if the psycho is really a psycho (I still didn't watch the whole episode tho)…
I noticed in kdramas they have portrayed psychopaths' to have the ability to emotionally attach or attract to someone (like in the psychopath loved his son in Taxi Driver), so I didn't find it too far fetched that they this guy loves his mother considering she raised him considering I have seen this "trend" in kdramas before. I have a number of thoughts to share after watching episode 12 of Big Mouth:

1.The possibility of Big Mouse being more an organization is becoming more apparent as the episodes go on. We have already seen that big mouse has many people working for them. In Ep12 we hear the room leader tell Chang Ho that someone asked them to save him and even stated "so WE made you big mouse" (something along those lines- but the main point is that he used 'we' implying it was a joint decision. It also implies Big Mouse has a person with a personal connection to Chang Ho working for them. Chang Ho was also framed as Big Mouse just as he went to prison so its unlikely that the person who asked them to save CH is Jerry because they met in prison.

2. Also to build further on this theory of Big Mouse being an organization, its likely that if it is an organization then the members might be made up of people wanting revenge in relation to what was reporting in Seo's Paper. Room Leader said he lost his daughter because of them, so other probably also lost others and maybe they banded together & created big mouse because they didn't have the power to fight back on their own. After building the big mouse persona, they needed someone to take the helm and fight for their justice/revenge.

3. We were shown that Jerry seems to be someone of power, judging by the phone call we were shown. First it was implying he could be Big Mouse (which is still a possibility). It can also lend to the possibility that BM is an organization & he is one of the members.

4. Mi Ho's dad is still a possibility for BM or a member of BM organisation. We have yet to hear anything about Mi Ho's mum, is it possible she may have died and he wants revenge/justice & they save CH because he is his son-in-law.

5,Chang Ho's lawyer friend is a little suspicious in general and in the episode 13 preview. One thing that made me question him as suspicious is because he is just so good & dedicated to helping CH, Mi Ho, etc. he just does whatever he is told with almost zero hesitation. I understand that he is their friend & worked with Ch but still everything he has involved himself is is dangerous but he doesn't even question it (one might think he has a personal investment in it but idk).

6.I am curious about the necklace that room leader looked at. Assuming it might have belonged to his daughter, it had a ring on it. That could mean she was married/engaged & possibly her husband/fiancé might be involved too.

7. In the preview for episode 13 we see Mi Ho showing an old man a picture of two little boys. One of the boys resembles the boy we saw in the flashback of ep12, who at this point seems to be implied is Mayer Choi. Mayor Choi might be building himself up to this position of power to fight Chairman Kang who might have been the death of his grandfather?
