This second season let me down a lot, the first half was unnecessary super slow, they dragged on way too much with the flashbacks. This should've been like one or two episodes at best. But the worst thing was the Mighty Warriors team itself, awful characters all around. They were trying way too hard with the "street american rap" style or whatever it was, and that Ice/Elly guy's way of speaking, moving, his face mimics... everything he did just irritated me to no end. I ended up skipping all of their scenes and it made the thing much more enjoyable. Still a shame.
But the last few episodes (7->10) were good, with more humors like the first season and other nice stuff. It's just a shame they're ALWAYS reusing so much footage-we've-already-seen when reintroducing teams, feels a bit lazy.
Pretty cool, nice story that offered some depth despite the context which is a good thing. The only issue I had with this one was how the actors were all a bit too "pretty boys", which, mixed with the music, made me felt like watching some k/jpop MVs at times. I guess that's what you get for being an Exile project... I can see why girls would find this to be a pros rather than a cons though haha.
There were however some very nice fight choregraphies and I especially liked the aerial flow of the Rudeboys (and of course of Kubota) — I knew as soon as I saw them in ep1 they'd be my fav team. Too bad I read they have very few screentime in the second season.
Definitely recommended anyway, it even has some funny humoristic scenes as well!
But there last episode was a bit underwhelming...
well... I think everyone who say "I expected more" is just not quite adapted to J-style pure slice of…
I'm new to the drama world and loved this one (since I watch lots of slice of life animes). Do you have any similar to recommend? (Girls-focused like this one would be even better).
I am SO confused by that ending... Can anyone explain why there were 2 and not 3 at the end?
It's a bit better explained in the anime, I don't remember how it happened exactly in the drama but I think it's more or less this: Mochida gave Naomi his real sachiko paper, keeping her fake one instead (given by Shinozaki). So he ends up not having one but performs the charm anyway. In the anime he lies to Naomi saying he managed to get Yuka's paper before escaping (which iirc is false as well, or doesn't even work).
Watched it at the world premiere in France. Pretty terrible movie. Paruru's acting was better than usual (yay!),…
Sorry, no idea as I watched it in theater. But I don't think the blu-ray/DVD is out, at least there's a mini spin-off series of Gekijourei that's been going on for a while now if you want.
This started off fine, but ended in a terrible way. All the episodes after like the 7 or so were a mess. I mean, killing one or two main characters is fine, it spices things up a bit. Then killing *most* of them smells fishy, and somewhat irritating but alright. However killing EVERYONE?? Without any other answer given or anything?... Doesn't that make the whole season utterly meaningless plot-wise? Eeeh.
Hopefully the spin-off with HKT will be acceptable.
Watched it at the world premiere in France. Pretty terrible movie. Paruru's acting was better than usual (yay!), but everything else was just not good. The "monster" couldn't be less scary, the VFX are sloppy (uh, what's up with that 3D?) and the staging is no good. Bad pacing with no rhythm: if it weren't for the musics, you wouldn't know when you are supposed to be scared. It simply feels like the story is unfolding before your eyes, and you're here waiting for something to happen. But when you realize it already happened, you understand how bad it is for a horror movie.
It would've been better off as a light-hearted comedy, because the few humorous scenes were actually somewhat funny.
In short, if you've read the summary, you know what's happening.
