I dropped it after two episodes. I couldn't even finish the second episode after what Ben said to Jim about his family. Like Ben is the creepy guy that watches Jim's naked torso through his window, that films him without his consent AND that posts the said video on social media but he has the AUDACITY to be mad at him just because he's just stating the fact that the video is circulating on gay social media pages?! Also, he's complaining about the fact that gays are afraid to come out to their straight friends because if they do so, the friends will think that they would hit on them, but he is the exact example of this case so why complain? I wouldn't say anything if he genuilely consider Jim as just a friend but he's absolutely not and he's a total creep about it. So, that makes this mini-series the second filipino series that I dropped after Quaranthings (even though, I watched more episode from this series). Can't they do better series such as Hello Stranger or Gaya sa Pelikula? These series were so good that I expected better from the Philippines after that.
I binge-watched this drama yesterday and it was amazing. I personally think this is one of the best J-BL drama of this year (for the moment, as the year hasn't ended yet). It is unfortunately very short but it has everything that an excellent drama has: a good story, very good actors (I fell in love with Kimura Tatsunari), a good direction and editing... It has also something that Japanese BLs or dramas in general don't have: good kisses. I've read a lot of comments of people complaining about the lack of kisses but I absolutely don't agree with them! First, there IS a kiss scene which you don't even have one in recent dramas like Cherry Magic or Keita Atsukoi, for instance. Second, the kiss (or kisses) was way better than what you usually see in J-dramas in which the actors' lips barely touch (Fukou-kun wa kiss suru shikanai is the most recent example). So, to me, this drama was perfect and I already want to watch it again even though I've just watched it yesterday.
Where do I start....1. The sex scene was lame af. After watching it I'm pretty sure that both the screenwriter…
"I know a lot of people are going to say that it's so great that the top asked for consent multiple times. On a level tho....a mob gangster that's interested mainly in bdsm asking like that is so unrealistic that it became cringey." No... I assure you. I'm one of those who likes consent in BL dramas but I thought the same thing as you watching this scene. It was really weird to see a supposedly mafia boss that likes it rough in bed asking multiple times if the guy was drunk and if he really agrees to this. Especially after the scene in which we can see one of his s*x partner crying after the night they had. Not realistic at all...
yh i take back everything i said defending jiwoo. i want to hope that what he said in the last scene he said bc…
I don't think Ji Woo meant it like this. He said he thought about her a lot, yes, but it could have been just after the break up. I'm pretty sure he forgot about her when he met Seo Jun. Anyway, that's how I interpreted what he said, I may be wrong.
I've waited this drama to end for me to binge watch it and it was worth it! I really liked the plot, the actors and the chemistry between the two main leads. I want more and I hope they will shoot a second season or a film because I feel like this is not the end.
I've dropped it... even though it is very short... But I couldn't stand Judah's character anymore. At least, Rocky's character is better written, it's a shame that is counterpart is unsufferable.
It was an okay series. I've seen way worse than this. The main problem of this series is - as a lot of people already said - the script. I would also add the direction and the editing (sometimes it was kind of weird). The last episode is also a big problem as it rushes important things that needed to be explained. However, the actors were good and I was happy to see Han Gi Chan in another BL after Where Your Eyes Linger.
I expected nothing from this film (knowing beforehand that it was mostly composed of flashbacks from the series), and I was still disappointed... I mean, I was ready for the flashbacks so that's fine by me, but what about the rest?... There's nothing more. We have quick scenes of most of the actors from the series - which is nice, don't get me wrong -, but they didn't add anything to the original source. Also, I was hoping for a proposal which turned out to be nothing more than a promise to be together, and even though, I'm used to be disappointed by this series by now, the most disappointed thing was actually the fact that Tine's parents don't know about Sarawat. I mean, they've been together for about 4 years and they even live together, and yet, Tine never told his parents that he had a boyfriend? Ok, the parents are quick to catch up but it's something that I have difficulties to understand... Anyway, I'll probably rewatch this series one day because I honestly really liked it (if we forget about the ending) but I won't rewatch this film.
The first episode was honestly really enjoyable but then... it went down the drain...
They made changes where they didn't need to (Anda's character is supposed to really like drawing mangas - he wants to be a mangaka - but is bad at drawing which is not the case in this series...) and they kept things that they should've changed (the non consensual kisses, for example...).
Apart from Tee, Jet and the parents, I would've probably stopped watching the series after episode 2 or 3. Although, I was a bit confused with Tee and Jet's relationship at first (while their relationship should be clear since the very beginning), I really enjoyed Tee's character. He was really fun to watch. But Anda's character was really not to my liking and that's a big problem when he is the main character.
The end was disastrous. Anda's breaking up with Ryo to "save his future" but his future is already ruined as everyone has already seen the photos. Totally illogical. Then, the "I will stop him because he obviously will listen to me" when the press conference has already started... And I won't talk about the kisses in front of the camera (I'm sorry, but I found that really inappropriate). I've never wanted to stop watching a series 15 minutes before the end of the said series...
Anyway, I'm happy and relieved to have finished it but that's only a 3/10 for me.
I didn't know there was going to be a special episode! Do you know when it is supposed to come out?
It's already come out on Hulu. Someone posted some of the clips (you can see the post in the Recent Discussions section. It was posted by Aeon). I haven't found all of the clips subbed, though :/
I really liked this drama to be honest, even though it's just tagged as a "bromance". It's not even a bromance, it's a plain romance, it's just getting started. The plot was interesting, the acting was really good, I'm just a bit disappointed with the ending that was too open for a possible second season that is not confirmed yet. So we don't know if we're going to have a proper ending to this story and that's a shame. I can't wait for the special episode, though!
The worst part for me is Theo continuing the charade of pretending not to know who Enchante is, he likes the attention
Yes, it made no sense at all!! Especially because he didn't want at first to look for the Enchanté guy, but when Akk made the thing public, he was the one always wanted to continue the search. Why?! He had all Akk's attention so why keep going? Anyway, I'm happy this drama ended.
I think the exact same thing! I got quite bored around the middle of the dramas when this quest to find the Enchanté guy was getting nowhere and when Theo couldn't help but fall into all of the other guys' bullsh*t. Then, the reveal didn't make any sense and Theo was getting worse and worse every episode. Only Akk (and Saifah) deserves our attention in this drama.
I really liked the series as a whole. The dynamic between the actors is really nice to watch. The main plot is not as interesting as the side plots in my opinion but it is still worth watching.
Does anybody know where I can watch the whole series? It's been 2 years already and WeTV still hasn't uploaded the other episodes and other websites don't have subs...
