Same Old Thing in a New Packaging!!
What happens when a genius con artist joins hands with her bodyguard & a pure character to fight injustices!
So, after “Marry My Husband”, I was expecting something fresh & intriguing from Park Min Young. She is one of my favorite Korean actresses, so I’m always sat for her shows; no matter the storyline. “Confidence Queen” depicts her in a never seen role before; her Yun I Rang is a genius with sociopathic tendencies. While you would expect violent behavior from such individuals, especially when their peace is disturbed; I Rang has an overtly bubbly personality and a sharp acumen. She solely focuses her intellectual abilities on seeking justice for victims who have been wronged by rich, ruthless individuals. Joining her on this crusade is her old bodyguard, James whom she picks up when he is fired from his job. Myung Gu Hu makes up the triad as the youngest member. The storyline doesn’t offer anything new; the trio take on cases where poor, helpless victims have been wrongfully accused. Yun I Rang is obviously the brains of their operation, but as the show unravels, it becomes clear there is a deep mystery hidden.
