The Storytelling Could Have Been Better!!
I really wanted to like this show, but it frizzles out in the second half!!
“Doctor on the Edge” hinges on the redemption arc that delivers Doctor Do Ji Ui, to Pyeondong-do, an isolated island no one wants to go to. Like most public health doctors, he just wants to do his work and not be bothered by the people on that small island. The show starts on a positive note, with Do Ji Ui performing his duties to the minimum extent. But as he slowly comes to terms with the inadequate healthcare services on the small island, his resolution becomes a solemn promise to help the island dwellers. The unwarranted love triangle in the first half and some sequestered plot twists in the second half diminish the potential of this storyline. No matter how hard I tried, the storytelling loses its pacing in the second half and seems to drag on.
