Was Intriguing in Start, But Ending Seems Rushed!!
How to turn an amazing script into an abysmal one!!
“Spring of the Blade” hinges on mystique, mostly centered around the real identities of the main protagonists. Zhou Ye stars as the manipulative protagonist, Xie Qing Yuan/Chen Yun Ya. Orphaned at a young age, she plots to return to her paternal family & seek revenge. Xu Kai stars Yan Rui/Shen Run, a righteous courtier who is assigned to oversee the Xie family. Both have designs against the Xie family and they have their own agenda. The storyline focuses on their tactile cooperation as they slowly fall in love with each other. The first half of the show proceeds at a steady pace; you are drawn to their schemes as they both use intriguing ways to sabotage the Xie family. The family members themselves have far more interesting stories. Each of them are involved in evil or shady dealings of their own. The storytelling seems rushed in the second half and the finale ends in a truncated manner.
