I just found out also that the was former wanna one member. And I agree that he is more korean than chinese/taiwanese.…
Next line says “He does not have the typical Chinese actor face” They are tryna say that his face is not what you usually see in Chinese male actors in dramas. Linlin’s face looks more Korean and that he looks more like Sulli from the gender bender Korean drama “to the beautiful you” when Sulli disguised as a guy.. I don’t think they were tryna say other Chinese/Taiwanese male actors are not cute and handsome just cause they don’t have Korean face. They are still handsome and cute?

Well it could also mean that they just want to improve her skin. I would be mad if the girl got plastic surgery…
And your right very few can achieve it but that’s how hard work comes in aye? That’s when facial products kicks in. That’s when beauty culture of different countries connects with each other. Facial products is not any different to exercising or shampoo. They are all ingredients to a happy, successful and presentable outlook. Not tryna change your perspective on this but technically you only have the right to say Westerns influenced us if Westerns don’t get influenced by us Asian either.

Omg lol I’m not implying that just because you have darker skin it’s bad. You can still have a healthy skin with dark skin however even they use facial mask and moisturizers and other beauty products to make their skin look healthier. My point was these products are not really to make your skin look whiter or they would have said while advertising. For what I remember from the drama, when Miao Miao’s sister brought her a facial product one of her friends said “Wow you’re skin look better” They weren’t meaning darker skin but her skin was healthier and more toned. And so what if we are obsessed with being white? It doesn’t really shape how we perceive darker skinned people. It’s our beauty standards for ourselves. We are very understanding if others choose to be dark skin. However we changed our selves into the type of people we want to be. From our hairstyles to our ideal weight and of course presentation in public. How do we get rid of pimples? Facial products. How does dermatologists remove black heads? Facial products. That’s my point. Bruh who cares about why we do it but how does it affect us? Would you be confident if you had blackheads or pimples while going to work? If others accepted Miao Miao and that’s how she gained confidence, why does she lack confidence when she became top 3 in English for the whole country and had above average score in Mathematics? Everyone clapped for her and teacher complimented her Wasn’t that supposed to be enough for her to feel confident about herself? At the time she still wore glasses and her hair was still curly messy. So why was she still not happy about herself? Shouldn’t her grades be enough to stand side by side with Yu Nian? No because in her standards and how others perceive her presentation is not enough. She would try to improve herself to the standard she thinks is suitable enough to stand next to him, both on intelligence and ‘beauty’. I know this series is not about skincare. It’s all about growth and the process of growing to shape yourself to ur own personal standard on what you think is “success”. Don’t talk about us being influenced by Westerns. Like bruh not everyone is influenced by Westerns. It’s interesting cause white skin people want tanned skin and and Asians want lighter skin.

So, another drama that tells women and girls that they are not beautiful the way they naturally are and sells…
Well it could also mean that they just want to improve her skin. I would be mad if the girl got plastic surgery on her face but they just recommend some facial products. Facial products won’t change what they look like but rather make their skin healthier. Also she got more confident after changing her looks which is a good thing(I liked her shy self more. She was so cute) Anyways at least it’s not surgery and she changes how she looks then I would complain. Also Asians are obsessed with white skin. I would know since I’m Asian myself. It’s our culture and I would like it if you dont assumed that just because we like white skin better doesn’t mean we look at dark skin as a bad thing. Facial health care is important to us. Not our fault it makes our skin look lighter.
