XingBack , i often saw you commenting on his dramas but i didn't know that you are the one who wrote this , i became a fan of him since my country . He is really different . He is just different from other actors , that control of voice and expressions is the first i've ever seen in kdrama , i swear . I don't get it how come he is still not fully appreciated , OMG how come this moving piece of talent has only one main lead!!!
Whenever i think about it , i realise that koreans have really bad taste when it comes to acting .
I heard he had been offered a lead role in an ocn drama called "hero " .
I found the script so interesting and suitable for him but the writer's last drama "possessed" has mostly negative reviews . What are your thoughts about this ?

Showed my little bro some of WDH's scenes and it seems he's ready to beg my mom to watch it XDHe'd probably do…
WDH is the type of actor who would have fanboys . I'm Gonna miss him when he enlists :(

I'd like to address the so called microwave romance in KTEM, and the supposed lack of chemistry.I believe majority…
What a pathetic attempt to defend the cheesiest romance in the world of kdrama !
I am 19 years old and i can't stand the cheesiness and cringe in their scenes . Don't attack old kdramas , they are the complete opposite of cheesy , but i can feel you , those who don't care about character or relation development won't probably like them . It's your problem if you happened to watch the cheesy ones. Also , don't wait for koreans to follow the american style in romance because it's so boring and lame . Just stop generalizing !

LMH is as usual for me. I fear more for Ji Chang Wook. His next drama looks completely silly.
What a waste of a good actor :(

Still so upset . Ignore the lack of screen time , but How could they do this to Woo Do Hwan ! How come his charcaters are so underdeveloped ! He is literally the best among this generation when it comes to dramatic acting . Had they made full use of his abilities , this show would have been on a whole another level !

So if I interpret it correctly, The King did not lose money for Studio Dragon and Kim Eun Sook, because they were…
OMG ! This is horrifying . The korean audience won't allow this , right ? They can't allow this to happen . They're already bashing TKEM so hard and I think writers and producers will probably put that in mind . Netflix can stick to some new faces and young unpopular actors for their dramas .I don't want them to expand in kdrama industry either . I am also curious about the choice of korean actors would they prefer to please the korean audience or the international one ? I really don't want kdramas to lose its korean soul :(

Here's my LMH theory. A lot of us first saw him in Boys Over Flowers and were captivated by the lanky rage-aholic…
I hope shin jae will get more screen time because his character is the most interesting , that fight scene between him and yeong was so brillianthat I wanted to see them in an action drama where they play comrades or cops or secret agents . I can't enjoy this drama at all , I only look for their scenes on insta .

You can't take your eyes off pure talent when you see it .

Apart from his world-class acting skills , Woo Do Hwan is also extremely attractive in a way that you can't ignore his presence . Even if he doesn't say a word , he uses his facial expressions and eye gaze so intensely . He can also manage to deliver the cheesiest lines and make them less awkward. He has the looks and absolutely the skills , so I am so disappointed by the fact that he is still not recognized yet . Other actors with medicore acting skills have received far more recognition and opportunities . Having seen his superb acting in my country , I thought this guy is too good to act in kdramas . His skills are on the level of movie actors . Can someone please explain How come he is a second lead while Lee min ho is the main lead ? No offence to lee min ho stans but I am reciting facts .

I can't get my self to overcome the fact that his talent is Hollywood- level and if he had been born somewhere else , maybe he would have received better appreciaton because korean audience are empty- headed in my honest opinion .

I don't know if I am exaggerating or not , but it seems that lots of you guys don't care much about instrumental music (not the songs) in dramas , I have barely found anyone speaking about them . If you watched the innocent man , i am sorry i love you , iris , my country and even goblin , you would realise it is responsible for giving the soul and aura to any tv show , especially dramatic & action scenes . Nearly , all dramas nowadays tend to ignore that element . It's actually found in k-movies more than k-dramas . I hope directors and composers will pay more attention to this subject in the future.

When you are so excited about a drama that you start making your own scenarios in your head and l imagine the scenes , the direction and the soundtrack before anything is aired , then there's a high probability that this drama will disappoint you . I know there are a lot of problems with the writing , but the direction isn' t the greatest either . You will realise this if you compare the first episode of goblin or mr sunshine with this .

So far what I don't understand/love are :1..The romance between the main leads" Does the 25 years ' wait because…
Your description of a better development of their love story is exactly what the writer should have done .

You ' re also right about the blank expressions or the fact that there are no expressions at all .
The only 2 things that I like are :

1- the same point you mentioned , some characters still have potential and can be explored in the upcoming episodes .

2- The cinematography .

True.. U described all the points I noticed which were the reasons I couldn't continue the show further. I can't…
Amy , I am actually 18 years old and I find his character to be the epitome of immaturity and silliness . Was it written for babies then ?
The fact that he is a king is driving me crazy lol . The bodyguard has more aspects of a kingly character despite his sternness . Also , the child actor who played the role of the king in his childhood has shown better acting and maturity . The writer has seemingly decided to rely on making the audience visually stunned and underestimated their intelligdnce .

even if it improves, i already gave up because it no longer makes sense to lose almost half the plot and try to…
I just dont get it . What happened with kim eun sook? Has she lost her touch ? Or is it her assistant writer that was the reason for her previous success ? This level of writing is suitable for a beginner ! And of-course not a high budget drama .

Because the others you mentioned don't even have a character , it's as simple as that . Just like you , I find…
True , no romance and no bromance ......
And I can't ignore the fact that this show doesn't deserve Woo Do Hwan . In my opinion , he is the best actor here but his talent is being wasted and underappreciated . If you watched save me or my country : the new age , you would realize that no one beats him at portraying emotionally challenging characters that can save a whole drama from flopping

Because the others you mentioned don't even have a character , it's as simple as that . Just like you , I find kyung nam's character the only interesting one . You can check my comment above . I would also love to mention that it's not the actors fault , but it 's definitely the writer's

Even if the plot moves from now , still the writer have wasted a great opportunity to get the viewer attracted to the characters . At this point , all the characters are really shallow and one dimensional that I wouldn't mind if any of them died for instance . She could have explored the relationship between them thoroughly and made the the viewers really care for them . For example , we don't get any development of the relationship between the king and his bodyguard and there's no real sense of brotherhood and caring between them except the fact that the bodyguard is so protective of his king which seems natural for any one in his position . What is worse is the development of the romance between the main couple , even if the couple don't have chemistry , a good writing could save the day .but nope , there is no deep reason for any of them to fall in love with the other or have a kiss scene . Does the 25 years ' wait because of a picture make a couple ! Like really ! She isn't even his savior ! I could write a better love story than this .
The prime minister has no depth at all . That's not how you portray female empowerment . Instead of making her an emotionally and mentally independent woman , the writer is making her a cliché second female lead . It would have been better if she had had a love interest with the bodyguard for example .

Here we have the whole main leads ' characters being super superficial and extremely uninteresting .

Another flaw is the frustrating lack of instrumental osts , do you people realise its importance ? It adds huge intensity to any scene and makes it less boring .

Also the king's character is written in a way that it seems he isn't even a king . He is so immature , what's wrong with his behaviour ! How can a king say those cheesy lines that make him lose all charm and power .
I don't think I can put up with this show anymore , but if the plot becomes better and we have a better exploration of character & relationships , then I might give it a chance .

My theory (writer-nims perspective): If we unleash Woo Do Hwan's acting skills, what would that make of Lee Min…
If they are terrified of him like that , then they shouldn't have casted him in the first place . It's frustrating to see his talent being underappreciated when he is the best actor in the whole cast !
