I may try but there are so many new historical CDrama dropping. I also watch for Zhang Ling He and Wang Xing Yue… their acting have been improving… though not in same league as TJC

Yes, yes absolutely… he speaks volume with just a glance, a tilt of head, a quiver of lip….I will be looking out for his upcoming dramas. While I like period drama - so waiting for ‘Go East’ - I heard the contemporary ‘Under the Skin’ is good, so it’s in my watchlist.

I m on ch37 and want Xiao Yu to end up with Xiang Liu/Fang Feng Bei more than ever. He saves her life, doesn’t make false promises, honest about his motives, and is there for her at needed moments…. way better than the weepy TSJ. I am now a fan of Tan Jian Ci after this series.. he is an amazing actor 😍

This drama has always been on my watchlist, because I like Bai Lu & Zhang Li He… even when AvenueX gave a low opinion, I too started this while waiting for new episodes for ‘The Double’ to drop. Having been introduced to Wang Xing Yue in The Double, this is the icing on the cake. Now after 20 episodes….WXY is fast becoming the cake 🎂 itself …pity he is only 2ML🥺. Enjoying the drama so far!

After JOL2 ended, I thought I can go back to my normal life and not wait daily for new drama episodes to drop …. and along came The Double. WJY is great as expected and WXY - a new find for me - is gorgeous! 🥰

Great acting in JOL2, enjoyed watching you act your role.

When I watched S1, I did not know who Xiao Zhan was and wondered why Yuan Bing Yun was like that. After watching other XZ dramas, read a bit of the novel and rewatching S1, I realised XZ was acting a YBY who is cold, aloof, stoic, loyal, suspicious and mostly expressionless and emotionless …except when holding the girl in his arms after she took the sword for him.. tears ran down his face. Guess being seriously tortured didn’t help either. And I totally understand and accept a new actor for YBY, but after watching S2E1 (watching slowly to savour the experience), I found the transition a little jarring, as the ‘new’ YBY is expressive, friendlier,, talked more and even smiled . I suppose the YBY character has to warm up in time… but it coinciding with a new actor showed quite visible contrast. Will be patient and wait for more character evolution.

I was also very touched by the Emperor’s running upon news of FX’s death … can feel him. Wondered how many takes CDM had to do 😀

So excited about S2!

I thought I am mentally prepared for a new Yuan Bing Yun, but I still greatly miss Xiao Zhan and his portrayal…in fact everything about him 😔

You can but it will be a lot less enjoyable and even confusing because there is so much background and story telling in S1. I just rewatched S1 and must complete it by tonight 💪🏼. It’s definitely worth the time.
