Dalmi was never in love with HJP as a real person. She just loved the idea that she had of him because his letters…
Couldn't have said it better. I think people put too much importance on the letters, and while they definitely help created an initial connection, real life interactions matter so much more. People can act so much differently in real life than what you expect based on their writing style. Not to mention Won Deok helped HJP with writing the letters so they're not entirely his thoughts.
I used to protect this drama... and its not the ship-thing, I actually thought it was interesting to create a…
"after they worried so much about going to the US about this and that, now they can just break the contract and decide where to work?"
They had a three-year contract. They had an offer to stay full-time, but decided to stay in Korea. They're completely free to do that; no contract was broken.
Some draggy moments in the middle, but I liked the finale. The final surgery was pretty tense, and there were a lot of nice emotional scenes that tied up some loose ends.
Disappointed that Hye Jung still keeps a persistent grudge towards her dad regardless of how nice he became to her.
Every time I jump into a hype train the drama always ends up disappointing in some way, e.g. Cheese in the Trap, DotS, Doctors, etc. Starting this and really hope this actually lives up to its rating and can maintain its quality. Always a gamble to commit to a kdrama
Did not hear about the controversy about the direction of the drama, and I gotta say I'm surprised. Looking purely at the drama, I definitely prefer Jung, but I didn't find myself minding the focus on In Ho. His subplot isn't even that bad, it's just different; I've still enjoyed the drama quite a bit. Honestly, I mostly thought of it just as a little diversion before we get back to the main Jung/Seol couple, especially looking back at the last few minutes of episode 14 (it seems like Seol is becoming more understanding of Jung's actions? We'll see). If they actually go through with having In Ho win, then that would be pretty crazy, but given the current hostility, I doubt it.
However from PHJ's standpoint it definitely is a shame that so many of his scenes were cut out. I just hope we get a good ending; this is easily one of my favorite dramas in a while. A special alone wouldn't be able to save a bad ending. I'm going to end up reading the webtoon anyway, but I've really become attached to the actors and wouldn't want to see the drama go to waste.
