One of the seasons where I mostly like all the guys and girls! Even if Mina Sue can be a bit annoying with her switch-ups it's not as bad as some others in the past. I'm enjoying this more than Season 3 and 4 overall. There's a lot more interesting relationships rather than the focus on a select few people going for one person.
In the final couple of eps I'll be most curious on where Sung-hun stands with Hee-sun and Mina Sue and which one he will decide on. It's no wonder he has a tech background given how he acts, usually tech bros have no game. 😂
Jungseo earned an extra point for not making Youjin feel left out in paradise. but then the more I think about…
I think he partially saw You-jin as a way to make his personality shine to Si-an. Who doesn't try to show off in a group of friends to your crush? But at the same time it genuinely felt like he was just vibing and having a good time with her
I like Jeong-su a lot more after these episodes. He showed a more natural side of himself with You-jin. He expressed himself better this time around too. With the limited time left, I feel like Si-an should try him one more time. If she picks Jun-seo again, it seems like she is just set with him because the paradise date after that would just be the final decision, right? Theo is such a remarkable guy, he took the rejection from Si-an really well and I found myself tearing up.
Really liked it overall even if not as strong as S1. Interesting how extensive Gi-hun and Jun-ho's plans were to try to stop the game even if they were ultimately outwitted / betrayed.
In the game itself, the mixups of all the alliances / betrayals was fascinating to see with the switchup they made to allow voting after every game and especially the chaos with the Mingle game. The tension was high up to the last episode, but I did have to suspend my disbelief at the shootout / escape attempt. That sequence kind of dragged on and it was hard to believe Gi-hun's group made it as far as they did against the masked people. Masked people basically had Stormtrooper aim and don't feel as threatening as they should.
They did a good job keeping me guessing when the Front Man would finally betray Gi-hun, particularly seeing him purposefully mess up the pentathlon a bit and voting for the second time.
I went into it blind so had no idea it would be a cliffhanger ending up until the final season reveal. I half-expected it to end there which would have been obviously bad (while still an amusingly morbid message on the futility of the lower class struggles). While disappointing, still appreciated what we got and has me eagerly awaiting season three. I am a bit surprised at the negative reception this season is getting, barring those who are just upset that it's not complete.
Really liked it! Very relatable and raw emotions going through Ethan and Joy's past due to financial troubles and different views in the kind of lives they want to pursue. Seeing them reflect on those challenges in the present and how they grow from them made me reflect on how I would handle them in my own relationships.
I'm not sure how to feel about the ending? I thought it was nice that Ethan and Joy were about to go their separate ways due to the legal challenges of remaining in Canada together, with a bittersweet farewell, and that the story would end right there. I guess they convinced Baby not to report them.
Then again, it would also be hard to go without any sort of closure for the story, so it is still satisfying in a way to see them end up together. If they made a third movie focused around the US, it would probably just be retreading old ground.
1. This is some of the best acting I've seen Song Kang do. I'm usually unimpressed by his acting, but swayed by…
> Now the question is, why does Do-Hee think this name sounds familiar to her?
Do-hee is somehow involved with the spiritual realm and she is remembering her past as Wol-sim, whether it's reincarnation or her being a demon or other spiritual creature herself. Why else would there be a person who looks exactly like her in the past?
I like how there's a lot more mixing in this season, there isn't one guy or girl who steals everyone's attention. Gyu-ri and Ha-bin had a lot of candy but the guys still give chances to other girls, and Ha-bin seemed to have fumbled the bag already lol. Really is the second choice for everyone.
Gwan-hee had a chance to remove his clown makeup at the candy game night. He decided to put on the nose 🤡
The whole water drug thing is kinda confusing, if water activates the drug then when are you actually able to drink it for hydration purposes? Is it just a death sentence? It’s kinda annoying to see the cop guy still addicted to it
Ending just makes me sad, seeing SSR and Logan throwing away their lives like that after all they worked toward. Yes, even being the "good" guys, they did some awful things too, but surely there would have been a better way to reflect on their actions. That fake out with a surviving SSR and Logan at the concert made me think OYH might have some miraculous reveal too, until the death reveals. Wish we could have seen a bit more Eugene, even in that fantasy ending scene.
CSJ is right behind JDT for doing some of the most vile things in this show, but even I teared up when she committed suicide before HEB could perform at the prison for her. Thought she could have a better redemption after seeing her visiting the church for her daughter. Especially after knowing SSR actually pulled her toward the cliff to make it look like she pushed her and technically framed her. Either way, what an absolutely twisted, complex character and it shows in Kim So-yeon's performance.
Really happy for BRN and JSH and the other kids, though the unnecessary deaths kind of sour the ending for me overall. 🥲
Maaan what a goated drama so far. Just got to ep 19... I don't even know who I should be rooting for anymore lol. There are a ton of plotholes, but I'm willing to overlook them because nearly every minute of this drama has my blood boiling or at the edge of my seat.
Absolutely goated drama. I thought the romance was fine, unlike others, as I really did want to see Dong-eun gain happiness in that way, and it wasn't really the main focus. Though I guess the obvious age difference makes it more jarring.
I was somewhat questioning why she still wanted to commit suicide after all she had accomplished; wouldn't that have taken away from what she had built up? She is clearly an accomplished educator and is evidently able to get in to whatever position she sets out to pursue. As if Yeon-jin would end up getting the last laugh after hearing she committed suicide anyway. But I'm glad Yeo-jeong's mom stepped in.
Other than that, the payoff was pretty good. I felt like Jae-jun was the worst off, not being able to take ownership of his daughter (her impression of him just being a violent man), and getting offed in such a humiliating way. Some things did seem to just fall into place for Dong-eun's plan (pretty much her whole connection with Yeo-jeong and how many advantages that gave her), but could explain it away as Dong-eun most likely had some alternatives.
Gripping, intense, satisfying. Was hard to watch those first couple episodes (in a good way). Possibly my favorite kdrama to-date. Definitely on the lookout for similar revenge dramas.
2nd time? i watch only 1 eps and i think is the most boring drama ever i seen i can t..
The first episode was kinda confusing tbh because it introduces most of the cast without much hook until the end. Definitely gets better and makes more sense as it goes on.
First time I've binged a drama in a long time. It was so uncomfortable (in a good way) to watch the first couple episodes, and the payoffs so far have been amazing. Song Hye-kyo is perfect for a revenge plot. Especially considering recent happenings in her life. 👀 Awaiting the second half with bated breath.

Very low stakes if you just give in to the queen, or be able to win with no deaths by having decent running / parkour skills.
Whatever the Jack of Spades game that Kuina was in seemed a lot more involved and requires a lot of fighting skills.
Awaiting the second half with bated breath.
