China's Sheldon Cooper
I can't help but compare this show to The Big Bang Theory and Yu Yu to Sheldon Cooper as each episode unfolds with rich characters. The actors play their roles very well and express the sophisticated emotions and complex relationships realistically. The cast has excellent chemistry. It might be because I have people in my life on the autism spectrum (ASD), but that's the lens through which I see Yu Yu. Like Sheldon, Yu Yu thinks he is smarter and more talented than everyone around him. His quirks are borderline OCD, he misses social cues, is passionate to the point of obsession in a single subject he doesn't understand metaphors or sarcasm leading to misunderstandings, and he tells the absolute truth as he sees it, all leading to awkward yet funny and endearing moments. ASD brains are wired differently so they can appear cold, arrogant, eccentric and very quirky which can make them seem rude yet they care about people and have a warm heart yearning for connection with others.
I'm not sure how wallace Huo prepared for this role but he nails the complex nature of a man struggling through relationships with ASD. Awkward moments happen which leads Yu Yu through some brilliant yet subtle humor. Excellent show.

Travel Adventure
This is a truly enjoyable show to watch. I found the show because I saw Liu Yuning in so many YouTube videos while the show was filming in Europe. I was intrigued. I began to wonder about his clothing choices, Lemon printed Hawaiian style shirts didn't match his style. What's up with that? Not only do I get to travel vicariously through the cast and learn about other countries, we get to experience a different side of the actors just being themselves. While some of the content is lost on me due to a culture gap (popular Chinese songs in games) the spontaneous comedic moments often have you laughing so hard you're brought to tears. It was heart warming to watch the actors genuine interactions, cooking together, playing, their reactions to local cuisine and building camaraderie. Great show ❤️ When JunJun has to leave to shoot a series, get out your box of tissues. He brings a joyful warmth to the show, the shark song 😂, so his departure brought some vulnerable moments with genuine emotions. He's adorable.
I hope this show has many more seasons, (hopefully with Liu Yuning) there are so many countries to explore with excellent cuisine. I'd love them to visit some of the amazing locations in South America like the ancient ruins of Peru, Lake Titicaca, Cuzco, The Mexican Riviera, Puerto Vallarta, etc. Cheers to more travel adventures.

Came for Liu Yuning, staying for great music
I started watching last season when Liu Yuning joined the cast. I didn't know what to expect because we don't have this type of show in the US. Between Joker, Lars, Charlie, and Yuning the comic chemistry is delightful. Nana is breaking free of her shyness and holds her own against Joker teasing her. ❤️ It's now my favorite weekly show.. I appreciate the laughter they bring me.The music is outstanding. It's a concert every Friday in the comfort of your own home . The voices! Have you heard Zhou Shen sing?! OMG, his Bel Canto is outstanding. I've fallen in love with his voice. I want to hear him sing everything. ❤️ My mom was a trained opera singer, I know good voices. Some of the most surprisingly gifted singers are the guests. Joker brings a depth of emotion to his singing not often experienced. Lars is a surprising powerhouse of vocal talent. I love how Liu Yuning brings a warm, inclusive big brother vibe collaborating with the other artists to form a group and duets.
Unfortunately, iQIYI's AI translation for subtitles either cannot translate songs sung in Mandarin or translates the lyrics incorrectly. Lyrics are the heart of a song. Being a show about the collaboration between singers and songwriters it's disappointing that accurate lyric translation to reach the international audience jas yet to be a priority. I'm not sure the singers, songwriters, or show producers know the emotional depth of their hard work isn't being made available to their fans. The AI translation also adds the name of each person before the text of their conversation, which is confusing to read and maintain the conversational flow. Please, delete the names, we know who is speaking by watching tons of C-Dramas. Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon, I'll re-watch every episode.
This show concept is an excellent embassador to spread modern Chinese culture and music to a wider audience. We get to learn about the songwriters behind the popular singing artists and get a glimpse of their dedication and hard work to bring their music to Life. I hope this show lasts for years to come. 🙏
