SOLID 10 **********!!
I don't rank a lot of shows a 10 because there is almost always room for improvement. The Bond, however, is one of those rarities. The acting/storytelling/visuals/soundtrack all solid 10s. All of the actors were awesome in their roles (the 5 children as youngsters to teenagers to their adult selves, were awesome) each character did a fantastic job portraying their characters, whether they were protagonists or antagonists. Excellent casting by the casting folks!
Family is the story here. Relationships between the five Qiao siblings over a 30-year span of time...romantic relationships, work relationships, friendships are all there too, but it's the sibling bond that is the centerpiece of this lovely show. The story isn't always lovely, it's messy, frustrating, irritating, crazy, heartbreaking, silly...all of the things/emotions that define family dynamics.
This is a slow-burn type of show. Things happen slowly, as things often do. Some things don't get resolved with a storybook ending, just like in real life.
It will take me a long time to get over The Bond. I absolutely loved everything about it.

WOW...hard to come up with adequate words!
If you are a fan of incredible storytelling, complex characters, amazing acting and a beautiful OST, this is the drama for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!It's been several months since I finished watching for the first time. Absolutely blown away, I rewatched it immediately. Then I found the book online and read it -- twice. And then I rewatched The First Frost again. Since then, I've tried to get into other dramas but none have the pull of The First Frost. Seriously, I compare every story to this one, every character to those in this one, every soundtrack to this one.
This is the most beautiful story and best acted and cinematically shot drama I've seen (and I've seen a lot). It gets deep into your soul to give you something to think about and ponder when you're not watching. It's really that good.
My only complaint is that the writers got sidetracked by the 2nd couple's story and that part (and ONLY that part dragged for me. Compared to the main couple's story, how in the world could it compete???). On rewatch, I hate to admit I FF'd through any scenes with the grandparents in them. It in no way affects this beautiful story and probably shaved an hour or so off of rewatch time.
WenYiFang and Sang Yan live rent free in my head and I'm more than okay with that!

What just happened?
Finished all 36 episodes and have to ask "what the #@%& happened in the last three episodes?"Come on, writers, you can do better than that. You literally used the final 6 minutes of the final episode to wrap things up -- but didn't do a great job even then. Seriously, the worst ending to any C/drama I've ever watched.
The actors did a fine job with the script they were given. But the writing was sub-par. I don't have anything else to say but have to come up with 500 words for this review so I'll leave it as this -- watcher beware. This drama will make you mad at the end!

LOVED this drama!
I want to be part of the Li/Ling family! What a beautiful story. So "real" -- all of the bumps and bruises and not wrapped up neatly, just like real life. Family isn't just about DNA, it's about the people we choose to be family, and this drama depicts the very best kind of family. I want a Ba like Li Ba! Loved it. Will definitely watch again. Originally I watched it because of the ML, I enjoyed him in Find Yourself and am so glad he starred in this one because it was so good!<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
