It was pretty mediocre. The creators clearly wanted to make a melancholic movie but the pacing suffered as a result. Some scenes just go on for too long. It even feels like the actors were told to move as if they were sloths. It all comes across as a bit forced. In the end, you're just sitting there waiting for the movie to be over. This story should have been told differently.

What? 7.1? Are you fucking kidding me?
This movie is so fucking good. 10/10. Great story and superb chemistry. Don't miss it because of low rating! For mature audiences. Love it. Hidden gem.

Netflix version has opposite problem as this one, imo... Rushed slop for Americans lacking attention span
Netflix version isn't perfect but it's much better filmed and acted. The characters are much more interesting. It has nothing in common with the typical popcorn slop for casual american normies with bad taste.
Chinese version is a "very interesting" audiobook..) rather than a TV series. The characters are mostly busy standing like posts or sitting and delivering lines, spending 2-3 episodes in a row telling their life story. It's hard to even classify this as cinema. It's more like a dramatized reading of a book.
Chinese version wasn't made by filmmakers but by incompetents and talentless people.

Jake Adelstein is such an obnoxious narcissist that stretches the truth in his books and reporting. Then when…
Well, all good stories deserve embellishment.

I had to drop it because I read online that the mother was never punished or held accountable for what she did…
This drama is not about revenge. In fact, the mother received her punishment, which for her as a mother is actually worse than prison. The only reason she didn’t go to prison is because fl asked the court not to send her there. Ml did not abandon his mother in favor of fl. He didn’t abandon either his mother or his love.

I thought it was just me but the k-dramas haven't been hitting like they usually do. i also watched old k-dramas…
Well, I'll say it again. I was talking about movies, not about kdramas. The article also only talks about movies.
