I had a lot of fun watching this drama, Shin Hae Sun owns every scene she is in - watching her shift identities to continuously move forward with her plan was cool, as were the unexpected twists in the story.
It's not a perfect drama, there are plenty of plot holes, but the acting was sublime, as was the chemistry between the characters. I've rated it an 8.5 because I found it to be interesting and wildly entertaining, exceeding my expectations from the first episode. I would no problem recommending this drama to others.

This was my first CDrama that I watched daily as it aired - the two female leads, Dilraba Dilmurat & Zhang Li were amazing in their roles. My question however being a newbie to CDrama's is can Chen Xing Xu actually act, because he did nothing in this drama, the ladies ran rings around his forever handsome but stoic expression, which rarely faltered for the entire series run.
Can some recommend a drama he is good / great in - not a great drama, but where he actually shows off his acting ability.

Just finished this show, it's was a fun, gentle, easy watch. The rating is off, a solid 8 for me, with a 10 for the OST - the first episode is a bit of a chore, but once you are past it, the show finds it's pace and leads you to a comedic business slice of life with three romance arcs - wish I had watched while airing, as the weekly smiles would of been comforting.

what he did to you 😭
In 2016, he was accused of sexual assault. The case revolved around South Korea's legal definition of "lack of consent," which often requires evidence of physical resistance or incapacitation. Despite the accuser presenting evidence of bruising, he was cleared of all charges. He subsequently filed a counter-lawsuit for false accusation. In 2017, the accuser was found not guilty of making a false accusation, but upon appeal, she was sentenced to eight months in prison for defamation in February 2018.

Note the accuser was found NOT guilty of making a false accusation - so he filed against her for defamation - money and power.

As of today I am on episode 11 of this drama. Although it has it's faults, the script writing is pretty good and on point for dealing with a variety of psychiatric disorders. The stand out for this drama though is the acting, Shin Ha Kyun and Jung So Min both are delivering exceptional and thought provoking performances. I am not a big fan of the romance aspect of the drama, though it does have it's moment - but both actors are giving us such a depth of range in emotions through their performances, I am literally in awe.
I used to think Jung So Min best performance was in Alchemy of Souls, but I am seeing even greater skills from her in this drama. I have some experience with BPD and many of the psychiatric disorders portrayed in this drama - Jung So Min portraying the fragile to sheer exuberant emotional range a person can feel within moments given the right triggers - this is VERY good acting.
In truth I have been quite sad since episode 4, knowing that this was going to be a finite experience with the end always drawing nearer. This has been so good, that I might actually right my first review for MDL.

In the film, she played a character who runs a bakery during the day and turns into an eccentric demon when dawn breaks.

So You are giving us an incorrect character breakdown for a film you have obviously not watched - impressive

Funny! I totally agree. There was something magical. (For lack of a better word) about season one. I did not like…
Thank you for your response - I have re-watched season one several times, it is just a well put together season. However in truth it took me three attempts to actually complete season two and I have not re-watched it, I think in part you are correct about the ongoing antagonist arc, it just didn't sit well with me.
I do not mind the stories from season three so far, they are just over simplified to me, the narrative is simply good v bad.

Why pursue them without any reason? We've known since the first season how well they cover their tracks. And we…
I appreciate your point of view, I just don't happen to agree, thanks for your reply, enjoy the series.

On Taxi Driver Season 3 Dec 21, 2025
The best season of this show is still season one, good acting and stunts, clear punishment for the antagonists, questions about morality and adjacent tension from with the police and prosecution being involved.

Season two committed the obvious and cardinal sin of trying to be bigger and bolder. The focus on the team only, operating with no one (police & Prosecution service) holding them back or getting in their way was detrimental to the stories, offering us a limited point of view of the teams actions. In Season one, questions of morality were highlighted, particularly with how the antagonists were held and being treated in the cells.

Sadly season three is continuing this trait of the team acting purely as a vigilant group with no one keeping them in check. Their missions appear to be just too easy now, no clever systems to stop themselves appearing on the police or prosecution service radar. The antagonists seem to be taken out, but we don't actually see them being held accountable - just dead or hospitalised.

It's still a fun show and I'll watch through to the end of the season 3, but the writers obviously forgot what made season one such a standout drama. Season one offered us the teams questionable morality in dealing with antagonists - it was more complex and therefore more interesting. Seasons two and three are simply good vs bad, no grey area, still entertaining, but not as interesting.

Just finished episode 22, I'm still really enjoying this drama - Dilraba Dilmurat is an amazing actress and I may try out more series from her - any recommendations for her best roles?
I'm going to watch Rattan next from 2021 - the premise sounds interesting and different.

Really enjoying this Cdrama, it's well cast and the story is providing us with so many unanswered questions / mysteries. I will not be reading any spoilers, it's like reading the last page in a book, before deciding to try the story.
I'm thinking of trying Rattan next, which is from the recommendations above and also sounds interesting and not the usual Cdrama fantasy (the usual demon / fairy storylines just don't work for me for some reason)
If anyone has anymore recommendations I'd appreciate them, thanks in advance.

Just re-watched this series for about the third time - IMHO it is far better than the original Chinese series. The Korean version fixed the extremely problematic non-consensual kisses between the ML and FL (a re-occurring trope in CDrama's unfortunately) and there was actual chemistry between the leads in the Korean version, which in a slice of life / romance is kind of important from a base level. I dropped the Chinese version mainly because of the ML, the story just did not work with him acting the way he did. I do credit the Chinese version with the original story, but the writing of the dominant male lead just did not work for me personally and ruined the otherwise very sweet story.

no idea who edits what for what reason on MDL, if your question is what happened with Zhao Lu Si, her old agency…
Having lived in five countries and travelled to over forty others, my worldview is undoubtedly different to yours.
Strangely almost all, yours being the exception, are comments and thoughts wishing Zhao Lusi well - I wonder whose comments seem out of place.

We do live in a world with much darkness, but was this really the place to spread your negativity - What on earth do Epstein's horror's and conspiracy theories have to do with Zhao Lusi.
