Yes I agree that it's very frustrating for many viewers because the story does not show a very direct CP from the beginning, that's the problem with reserve harem story (another example was Lost You Forever) and you may ship the wrong pair. LOL. But thankfully I always root for Xie Wei. Usually unhinge character like that does not get their happy ending. The relationship in this drama is very relatable and realistic, because I'm not that person who believes love at first sight or falling in love with a childhood friend.

imo, the time SOKP trying to get the license to air was during a very strict time from the government. Lately I don't think they care so much. A lot of drama nowadays are very direct reborn story, like Blossoms.
