It´s warm, charming, and worth watching if you’re looking for something light and heartfelt
I found the series cute and light. The fact that it only has 12 episodes makes it easy to watch quickly, and it doesn’t require a lot of concentration or bring intense emotions.I read some comments saying the main couple lacks chemistry or that their relationship feels more like a babysitter and a child rather than a couple. I can understand that point of view, but I think that’s actually one of the key aspects of the series: the fact that Joo-yeon is younger and likes simple things that society might label as “childish,” while at the same time he’s been forced to act like an adult and make very mature decisions from a young age to try to please his grandmother — who simply couldn’t stand his existence. This makes him someone who deeply needs care and love. And Su-jeong is exactly that person — an adult, mature, someone who’s been through a lot but is understanding and capable of giving him the love and attention he needs. I don’t think this makes their relationship one of siblings or of a babysitter and child — it’s just something a bit different from the usual dramas, and that’s what makes the story engaging and fun to watch.
That said, I have to mention that I feel everything developed way too fast in the last episode. Jung Hyo-seon didn’t simply ignore her grandson or insult him — she abused him, destroyed what was most precious to him, blamed him for his parents’ death, treated him like a disappointment, and saw him as a flaw in the family. And then, in the final episode, she suddenly has an epiphany and everything is resolved with a single apology...
I also feel like the drama tried to cover too much in just 12 episodes. I would have preferred that they developed certain topics more instead of creating so many side plots. For example, I would have liked to see more about Su-jeong’s relationship with her mother and what it was like accompanying her in the hospital, or more memories of Joo-yeon with his parents so that we could truly feel the bond and the pain of his loss. I also wish we’d learned what happened to the other two team members — in the end we only really know about Joo-yeon, Su-jeong, and Seo Ha-jin.
But overall, I found it really sweet! Without a doubt, Ha-jin and Sin-won’s relationship added a lot to the drama — their story was adorable and “complicated” in a good way. And I loved Su-bin’s brother Baek Su-bin — he seems like an airhead at first, but in truth he cares deeply for her.
