Don’t care about the romance anymore haven’t in a long time since ep. I would say 20 to maybe 22. This started out really good but somehow it became as “The legend of Rong Shao Bao and her Love sicked lackey Offical Lu Jiang Lai.” I honestly had my hopes up too high thinking this could’ve been another masterpiece but it’s not even that. The darker tone of the drama is being pushed towards the last 6 episodes and the so called romance? This isn’t a true love calling story anymore. I don’t care if I only came for Neo and a few of my other favs. I still came and even showed great support to the full cast even Nazha who I’ve never been a fan of her acting. Yet her earlier stages of her character won me over. Now she’s some bootleg unofficial official of the govt tackling cases and out witting everyone. The reason why people loved Hei We Fang, Wei Ying Luo, Ming Lan etc. It’s because they were more realistic characters and well written at that. They had short comings and some winnings. However, in this no offense RSB seems to be like that all powerful MC in the anime’s who keeps getting a power boost. Like a crazy Isekai just all powerful and stuff. it’s insufferable and unbelievable at this point. This is just my opinion so I don’t need any person jumping under my comment trying to tell me otherwise or asked me the stupid “What show are you watching?” crap. I can understand just fine and this drama isn’t making any sense anymore to me. Glad others are enjoying it but I’m not and therefore is allowed to voice my opinions and feel this way. Express isn’t coming fast enough for me.

It happened during filming but it’s old news just a lot of us were upset how he was being forced to work so hard. it’s also happened with Chen Zhe Yuan and another one of Yu Zheng actresses. But you is right. Her character is colder and so is her so called love. She once wasn’t as hollow as she is now. I don’t even see the former cold blooded ruthless LjL anymore either. It’s like the characters did a personality swap. She took his traits and he took the inner little girl in her. I have adjusted my rating to a 7.5 from a 10. The drama isn’t entertaining anymore I’m too just trying to complete it.

This actually ties into what Kiwis were complaining about during filming. I knew this drama was about him but no everyone kept saying it’s not. If the plot had mostly him solving cases etc by himself than it’s about him. I really hate how Neo was done and then to think he got hospitalized while filming this drama. Only to not have any real pay off.

You made it farther than me 😭I love both leads in that as well. But you’re right the drama isn’t anything new it gave me sword and fairy 4 with Kiku and that was good as it was also IQYI produced. However, the writing and I didn’t feel the chemistry was the problem for me.

Lol yes she has no back bone at all and I totally agree. I will always think FP ML was the better choice when it comes to these types. Neo is giving his all so it’s not his fault for me either just the writing isn’t consistent to what we were shown and told about him. Omg I am loving that drama and thank you for reminding me about it. I placed it on hold in favorable of this one but will restart it now. I’m watching Love’s Ambition as I wanted to give it a fair shake for my baby Rosy. Unclouded soul for me got stale at ep.9 I don’t even think I ever rated a drama that low for both leads ever. Migjt give it a chance later this month.

I know some thinks that’s true love but that isn’t the only definition of true love. I would not want my husband to give up everything for me. Even if he claims he felt alone and never had anyone. Still he had his career. That’s something at least. Instead he’s giving it away like it’s rice cakes 🥴🫣 At this point no hope. I’m just ready for this to end to focus on Neo next works. It was a good ride from the beginning but I knew it would’ve gotten stale. Slow burn romances isn’t the problem it’s the writing. With Flourished peony we got a ruthless / schemer hidden with a jolly factious persona. he could be cruel when need be. he could be loveable like a sick puppy for the fl when needed and he could be cold to her, so that she would stand on her own. the problem here is RSB hasn’t found her back bone. Forget tea bone she needs to find that back bone first. 😭😭

No offense but I highly doubt the last episodes will do his story justice. I’m not even going to be surprised about what I see as it’s been spoiled I just wanted to see him flourished and I’m not getting it. The drama started off a 10 for me an now a 7.5 if even that. Glad you think this way but unfortunately I’m just talking about my own expectations. So this wasn’t a comment I wanted anyone to agree or disagree rather me just expressing what I wanna see.

The question I have for myself as this drama literally ends tomorrow. What kind of ending do I wanna see? I guess as someone who’s defended this drama and engaged vigorously. I would rather just a accomplishment ending. If that makes sense? I necessarily don’t need a happy couple ending even though we know it’s a happy ending as it’s been spoiled all over the internet now. I truly hope that ending isn’t true. As he literally gives up his heritage, career just for her. I wanted a balance between the two but not a docile house husband. I wanted Rong traditions broken so the girls can find true happiness and love. I mean I feel like we will get that at least. But to see the ML will give up his all. I don’t know how I’ll feel about that. I can’t believe these last few episodes will be covering the capitol arc. The arc I’ve heard so much about on Weibo etc. How will it get told properly I am not sure. Kinda scared to even think about it. 😭Oh well guess I wait and see.

Sweet Jelly my baobei is busy and currently trending everyday. So happy for her. She’s earned this success and I can’t wait to see her roles and next roles. I hope these be her break out moments for 2026.

This I believe this will be a 7.5 or 8 rated drama for me. It doesn’t matter if they end up together or not. The tug an pull was nice in the beginning, So was the scheming. Now it’s repetitive and boring. She uses him and then you have people defending her actions with “She was betrayed by him or he lied first, she has a plan, their working together.” There is no excuses anymore. He came to them in the beginning ruthless but caring. He wanted and needed as an official to solve a case which happened to have her family behind it. She didn’t like how he came at her family. So he devises a plan to get into the house yes he snucked into it but he didn’t planned on losing his memory. However, she knew who he was and allowed him to be treated like a servant until she started having more of a crush on him. Then he became love sick puppy 100000 at this point everyone loves RSB. Now he’s back in his somewhat glory and he’s still licking boots for the Rong family an her. It’s not even about being a certain actor fan in this drama. It’s about the writing an plot. Now people are saying rumors of season 2 but so far that’s just rumors. Because many netizens are upset. The drama started off good and fell off poorly. It stop being good for ep.22 truly then. I can handle slow burn hello Flourished Peony, Story of Yanxi palace etc. I have watched dramas with 70+ episodes (I prefer thi genre a lot ancient puppet dramas are my favorites) However this isn’t even up there with the greats. The use of LjL has been reduced to a puppy slave official for Rong. Now he’s going to get himself embarrassed in ep.29&30 I truly hope the rumors aren’t true an he gives up his heritage for her. I also don’t want a season 2. I rather if they get together it’s just with both equally heritage not him giving up his own because that’s how Rong family has been. Truly I wished he wouldn’t get with her. That doesn’t mean I wan him with Miss Xu either. Although they looked cute together still no. He’s spend a better good 30 something episodes running in circles for a woman. I want him to do something for himself not for his love. But his own heart and goals.
