I completely agree, I have watched plenty dramas who have done it well. It is far more healthy to show it then give us those weird ass duck kisses that to this day I have never seen anywhere in the real world.

Oo, I cannot stand ML that behave like overgrown children justify how they behave towards other people as an okay thing simply because they have bad experience in the past aka their trauma. The thing that irritates me the most is that these ML's get praised for their actions or their good looks seem to obscure the fact that they are jerks. And had they not been handsome and rich, no sane woman would willing accept that as okay behavior. As for sexuality or any form of sensual behavior, if it ain't a duck kiss, it isn't considered romance when it comes to K-dramas. It is just cultural not going to be shown very often nor will it be acceptable to the public.
Well written and thought out article! If I may add, I feel that goals when it comes to female characters tend to be lame or non-existent compared to male characters. Even when a female character starts off with a goal, it ends up being disregarded for whatever reason such as love for the male character. Also, the clearest goals tend to be found with the adversary to the female lead, but her goal is ultimately shallow because it usually is just wanting to get the male lead. It is kind of funny really, because I tend to feel that if the second female lead doesn't antagonize the female lead, then she would really be the one people root for. It is because she has the confidence to like someone and pursue them as a goal, though she gets shut down, at least she made an effort. While the usual female lead does nothing but stands there and breathes with open eyes and dislike the male lead for a bit before he is willing to pursue her.
