This series was a letdown, and it ruined my reader experience

For this drama, that's what it's all about... Passion!! And enough with this Western bullshit you guys are throwing around like we are wild and sinners for knowing what we like... Honey, I am an author so if I put an intense sexual scene in my book, then it's the cast and production's bloody responsibility to recreate that scene exactly how I wrote it if they want to do an adaptation or they shouldn't bother with an adaptation if they can't.

And I am also a reader so if I am reading a Colleen Hoover or Ana Huang book and then I hear that said book is getting a movie adaptation, then I expect every scene to be recreated or if it can't be, it should give me a close replica or just something that bloody makes sense so I dont look like a fool for reading what I read

likeeeee.... and honestly, why even name it "Be Passionately in Love" if you are going to throw the passion away? By episode 15, the premise of the drama was starting to look like clickbait... like they just hinted at the tension and chemistry to keep me going and wanting more and that's bloody insulting... I felt like the directors were having a laugh while I sat down to watch this drama up till the end

We are not complaining because it doesn't have lots of kiss and intimate scenes; we are complaining because if you are going to add it at all, at least bloody do it right or don't do it at all...!

Its 2025 for heavens sake and I shouldn't have to watch kiss scenes that look like they were shot in 1965. And also if you've read the novel then you'd understand why the title of the drama is 'Be Passionately in Love,' because the novel was very intimate and passionately intense, whereas the drama adaptation has only the love and dumped the passion in a bloody garbage bin and you expect us readers to smile and be okay with such a lukewarm replica... No! That's not right

Those who have seen the first episodes... don't keep us hanging!! What's up!?

This doesn't mean we should find faults with her previous dramas or compare them unnecessarily, cos that's what you are doing and you haven't even seen Feud yet and I'm sure you'll love it just as much and then by the time MoLi comes out, you'll find fault in the Feud you so much loved and praised and that's not right

My God your response is so out of context... follow the conversation thread. Nobody is saying Fan Yue is weak...nobody would ever dare say that. The conversation is about Fan Yue and Su Yi Shui from Love of the divine tree

FY was always destined to be King/master/lord (whatever) because he had the demon lord mantle.

I'm not even talking about the romance, though. I actually dropped a comment here about how much I love Fan Yue and his relationship with Bai Shuo. What made me start this conversation is their powers.

And your last statement perfectly sums up my dilemma:

"I don't consider it fair to compare a character who is going through stages of cultivation and a character who is already at a higher position than him."

This is exactly what got me thinking in the first place. So many times while watching, I found myself asking: Can Fan Yue do this? Would Fan Yue handle this situation the same way? If Fan Yue were here, what would he do?

And it's wild to me because I know these two men aren’t on the same level. Fan Yue is literally at God mode, yet after watching SYS come out triumphant and ruthless after so many insane challenges, I couldn’t help but think… my guy could actually give him a run for his money.

Honestly.

I thought the same thing too… but did you see the villain that SYS fought against? That guy was on another level, and the Hidden Lord doesn’t even compare. I haven’t read either of the books, so I’m basing my comparisons solely on the drama. And from what I saw, every time FY had a big fight scene, the next thing we knew, he was losing a star and needed time to recover. But SYS? No matter how many times he spat blood, if something urgent came up, my guy was back on his feet and fighting.

Wei Jiu, his nemesis, was constantly shocked that SYS could still fight, especially after losing so much power. And let’s not forget, SYS’s fighting style and cultivation were just as unorthodox as FY’s—just like how FY’s methods triggered the Seven Stars Scar, SYS repeatedly combined both demon and heavenly cultivation to get what he wanted.

Also, in SYS’s fight scenes, his opponents scattered like pixie blood dust (😂😂). I mention this because if this were an American series where gore was allowed, that "pixie blood dust" would definitely be body parts flying everywhere instead of just red mist.

Okay so I asked this question on the "Love of a divine tree" page, so I feel its only fair I ask this here. Also I feel like those who have seen both dramas can give a fair answer:

"I dont mean to be controversial but I just need to know who else feels the same way...between Su Yi Shui and Fan Yue, who do you think will win in an epic stand down? My vote is SYS 100%"
