Park Min Young's character is growing on me a little. She had such a punchable face in the first episode. I think it will be like Kim Dam I in Our Beloved Summer. Had a punchable face, but became one of my favorite characters after knowing her more.
As a Korean, the whole controversy is stupid. I'm not denying what happened during the 1987 student protests. Korea is much better now than it was back then. Through the sacrifices and courage that the protesters had, we finally had a democracy. The NSA targeted Korean protesters while beating them and called them North Korean spies along with other slander and libel. But what does that have to do with the series? Coincidentally, a North Korean spy is designed with the task of acting as a student during the demonstrations. This is a work of fiction and obviously, people can see that. It's supposed to distort historical accuracy for the sake of the writing. It's not propaganda if it doesn't push a message. The author clearly holds ties against his home country and wants to praise a tyrannical government. People really need to get their heads out of their asses and just admit they are pissed because of their nationalistic views. Then this whole fiasco will be over. It never claimed to be historically accurate. Do you get mad at historically inaccurate films, books, and more because they are fiction? Why should this be an issue?
