Loved this drama mostly because of the leads. Not gonna focus on "How yeon Joo's cheating kiss was never mentioned…
Exactly, i just wished that both of them appear in drama with strong script and plot-line. This drama was still interesting for those who haven't watched the webtoon like me. But for those who have watched, i understand them. This always happen when a drama is made out of already famous story. People get conflicted, also imagine real story and always compare it with the drama, and it keeps on going until they lose the spirit of drama.
Loved this drama mostly because of the leads. Not gonna focus on "How yeon Joo's cheating kiss was never mentioned again", and "How DH's Parents didn't even flinch knowing that DH & SB like each other" To all the Theory-Guys about SB's mother, DH's mother and DH's father's first love. You did great, made the story more interesting than it was. That was the plus point for this drama, it made us curious.
Am i the only one who felt weird and strange about Hyun-Joo not getting fazed by her her mother going with CEO…
They can save this drama, by including the stories of Hyun-Joo's friends , it will be nice ouch to the plot. Also by giving more focus on Do-Gyom and Seo-Yeon story, because even if Do-Gyom is out of the picture of main couple, the main couple still has lot to figure out for themselves.
Am i the only one who felt weird and strange about Hyun-Joo not getting fazed by her her mother going with CEO and getting all those gifts. Don't normally people get offended and get angry if parents do such things. Similarly, at the wedding anniversary, she was kind of humiliated in front of all the guests, and parents kept going. I know it all supposed to be funny/joke, but in this episode, parents jokes were too lame and tbh not appropriate. At the wedding anniversary, it was not just Hyun-Joo, but the two guys should have felt pretty humiliated. Idk, the show was picking up nicely, now that their stories are getting closer, but these few things were troubling for me. Or i'm just being over-sensitive.LOL
Now its a mess. TBH i was expecting more deep and thorough background behined HaNee's father, but from the looks of it it seems like a drunk mistake. Maybe it's too soon to say this, cause dramas sometimes gives you wrong clues to keep you interested.
But i hope that Hanee birth secret would something worth the 16 episode, cause mostly drama revolves around that part.
This is what I think. The recent past life happened early 1970s when they were uni students. The creepy ajumma…
yeah right, at start he was standing in front of grave, i think that was min-ju past life's heyon-joo. That means that three of them died or they wouldn't be so young. They didn't mentioned the timelines, so its hard to say what that ahjumma really is. Did she get reincarnated or living the same life. Judging from the things she has, it seems she is still the same person.
Also, both them drowned to get their memories, but that old-lady haven't (or still has not shown yet). Their drowning to get the memories might mean something about their past lives ending.
Is it just me or anyone else has also noticed that, Hyun-Joo remembers three of her lives with Ji-Woo (in childhood), or still remembering in this age again, mostly from the era (josean era i suppose). But Ji-Wo on the other hand only remembers his recent life. First i thought because it makes sense that he would cherish memories from his recent past-life cause its the recent one. but now that i think about it it seems he only remembers the recent one cause he said in last scene of episode 3, "I am not going to make the same mistake "twice",", he didn't say again or one more time. Also the Lady (mother) also seem to remember only recent life.
You know what is actually more bothersome than all the scenes? No one realizes that the dreadsguy is humming "Sweat"…
i didn't notice any song, (edit: just read the lyrics, he was singing Ala la la, i thought it was just random..LOL) as i said the character is weird/strange no doubt about that, and that was people say that his character is making his looks questionable. If the character is as weird as you say, or creepy, then maybe the writers wanted this type of character, like some villains or bad personality character. That give more reason to people to say thats racism, because apparently his looks adding up to his creepiness that's gonna shout racism.
Now to discuss the racism part of the show. The world at large needs to stop painting in such specific strokes,…
Finally, said it. We suppose he is supposed to be a really funny character (which if the writer thought so, then its a poorly written funny character). here, he is not funny at all, he is weird (or strange), at first i thought he was pervert (because of his comics) now it seems he is not. In our daily lives, even if a person has rough hair, not dressed well or something like that. The people around him (mostly closed ones) they do scold them, not in a way to make fun of that person. They tell him to keep up his appearance , or something like that.
Now to discuss the racism part of the show. The world at large needs to stop painting in such specific strokes,…
You are clearly on point here, i get so confused by these topics, one time its not racism, other time it is. Anyone who dislikes/hate someone, can blame these ideologies, that you are racist or not. Movies/dramas has been portraying other cultures , that's how we know such variety of cultures exist. How do we know that by sitting in our home. Because of media, of which entertainment is a big part. If all of them includes racism, then it means we are taught wrong and we are not in position to judge. You are right that only Jamaicans can judge, but that also creates problems, because nobody would like their culture/customs to be shown in such weird characters, it ruins them just like in this one just because the character is weird, the whole look looks weird, but what if the character was sweet innocent, would still that be racism.
What i understand (correct me if i am wrong) is that, copying someone culture/looks is not wrong. Its not racism. But what matter is how you portray that image. Indians have long been ridiculed in Hollywood and they used Indian actors. Its the image that you want to present by adopting someone else's culture/looks.
Maybe that's the reason people are saying this character is racist, because his whole looks are supposed to make this character funny/comic, but it might hurt someone's feelings. Just like when he came from sauna and DH's family told him that he was going to get shower, these kinds of things are the problems. Just because of his looks/color, doesn't mean he is dirty. So copying a culture/look is not a problem, but using that for fun/comedy is the real issue.
In this drama, i hope they show some story behind his looks so it becomes less critical.
So its not just me who thinks that there will be some intertwined plot. I guess DH's mother and SB's mother connection…
I agree, the flashback girl was a singer (who DH father calls Jangmi), so maybe she is the mother of SB and EB, DH's mother might be friends with that girl, then DH's father fell for that girl, but somehow DH's mother (who was friends with that girl) ended up with DH's father. It might explains that girl never looked back at DH's mother. BUt you are right though, that SB & EB didn't mention their mother or i don't remember..
Exactly..... I'm at Episode 6 and still haven't found anything offensive. And that Raggae guy is just a character.…
Yes same here, i hope that they clarify his looks etc. There must be a reason. I was really shocked by the "racism criticism". He was more than happy to meet that Jamaican guy rather than offended, i don't know if its just the dislike of drama that want to turn such scenes into problematic..
Aside from that comic writer guy, and overly shown scenes (like dae hyn dreams etc. to make things funny which…
So its not just me who thinks that there will be some intertwined plot. I guess DH's mother and SB's mother connection seems more probable than YJ's mother, since DH's mother also keep supporting/praising SB, maybe this all the buildup for more intense encounters.
And about SB's mother, maybe i forgot but i thought she died, not left them.?
