To each their POV. I think this is how the character is. I will expect over time Hira might mellow…a bit, but he his love for Kiyoi is so absolute it’s blinding. It does always make me wonder what would happen if Kiyoi disappeared which is why I loved the ending of episode 1 where Kiyoi said to Hira “don’t go anywhere”.

You need to watch series 1 to understand series 2. I get why you might think this, but it becomes very apparent why these two characters are very perfectly matched. Kiyoi comes from abandonment and neglect as a child which is why he wants to be adored as an actor/idol. Hira’s overwhelming love is what actually completes him.
