I am having withdrawals of this show, Wednesday seems so far away, that I ended up rewatching at least twice already! Thank you for whoever found that hand gesture during the divorce papers scene!! I am curious if anyone has any thoughts on the following: 1. significance of flowers/ her allergies in ep 7? After rewatching, and there was a flashback there also, it just stood out, didn’t really fit in with the flow, so wondering why it was there… 2. Obviously he came back rich, powerful, to show off— look this is what u let go off… this seemed straight forward in ep 7, 8, and even 9, though we saw him fight a little bit here especially the intro to mother scene in ep 9. Besides making them regret of losing him, I didn’t really see any strong revenge from his side in these episodes, making that whole mother scene even more painful. If we consider that he was trying to pt to Khim that, her father is a liar, then ok, fine, we can think that was the flow… he wasn’t warm enough in these episodes for the drastic change in the next set of episodes. What I mean is that he didn’t seem to want her back in the earlier episodes compared to 10 to 11, where even here, we could even say, he wanted to pull one night stand and desert her as part of him satisfying his revenge. 12 was different as it brought too many raw emotions, softness, togetherness, but they threw one line in there at the end… ‘if u don’t make it, I’ll get u in the next life.’ What is ur opinion on what the ML’s goal was to begin with, and relate to how he was trying to achieve it? I am a huge romantic at heart, and do actually secretly enjoy cringey lovey doves stuff, and want to believe his ultimate goal was to claim his wife back from ep 7, but rewatching, makes me question it.. what do u guys think?
I would recommend Autumn’s Concerto drama as it has similar vibes.
On the contrary, I totally understand his gesture, he acts like this because he feels guilty, not only towards…
I agree with you. I also feel like the show is showing us viewers disjointed stuff with flashbacks to distract us in order to keep us focus on one side of the story to surprise us with the rest. I think the turning pt was probably in ep 10, where Kla realizes that Khim still has feelings for him. I feel like that Lita shared the letter with her job application for art gallery in the same go, and seems like she is acting fishy with Khim. I feel like, Kla, after reading that letter, realized that both, him and Khim were in denial that they want each other, but have or want to move on from the past for survival tactic alone. Based on that, I think he figures he needs to set everything back to the way it was when they first met, especially after the whole coconut water against spicy food flashback- he could tell that she wasn’t immune to it. Getting the garage was the first step, but he also has to get her to admit to herself that she wants him and come to him willingly, accept that it’s her father that ruined their relationship so have the ability to withstand going against her father without any regrets. These lines / actions caught my attention and resulted in my above thinking: Ep 10: his whole behavior of how he was secretly watching Khim and goading her, and making faces at everything Than was saying to Khim’s mom abt wedding, family. Ep 11: his suggestion of sex, I think this was a little weak but maybe he was hoping that he could use it to hold onto her. ‘You shouldn’t feel guilty towards your fiancé, but towards ur husband, and that we r really not doing anything wrong as we r not divorced yet.’ He knew that if she gave into him, he had her, as she wouldn’t be able to go back to Than. Also highlight here is exposing (or at least have her question) her dad’s lies to her and his involvement with breaking them apart. The whole Claire part, I don’t think he calculated that properly. He cared for her no doubt as she did remind the innocence of Khim, but it wasn’t beyond that. He didn’t take into account of how Claire felt abt him, and didn’t expect that Khim would actually get them back in relationship. Now for drumroll…. The whole making up for him for divorce… ‘if you stay with me and don’t feel anything, it means we don’t have anything left, and I’ll divorce you.’ He only refers to her feelings and not his, indirectly indicating that he is 100% sure of his feelings and what he wants, but can’t force her if she doesn’t feel the same way, but needs her to give them 100% try before deciding one way or the other. One more line at the end of episode: ‘I’ll make her have no one left’. I was going to analyze Ep 12 like this as well, as there were to many signs but have to log into work for now… but that last line from ep 11, to the lines he says when he is giving her CPR, and was in hospital, especially: ‘we met because of a coincidence. We knew each other because of a mistake. We loved each other because we had no one left. ….’ Now by guilt bound as he was the cause of putting Claire and Khim in the position they r in now, and at the speed he needed to react to off balance Khim’s dad, he had to go straight to Khim and deal with her, before things got worse. It is sad, but I don’t think it was what he wanted, or how he would have liked to have done that. I think going forward, he is putting faith in her feelings for him to come back to him, as he has been waiting for her- his own confession during CPR…
Ironically, Mint (Claire) played a very unlikable character in Pramook, a series that had some major character…
I agree with you. I was just thinking on the lines of what if’s….
What if… Kla all along never wanted to divorce but wanted to prove to Khim that he is worthy by becoming rich on his application, so that he could take his wife back? He is also a human and was hurt, so wanted to make her jealous by showing off how women flock to him, and how he is supposedly in a relationship with a super model? But in all situations, things got backfired, as she got engaged where he wanted to show off his relationship and it seemed that she was having an intimate time with her fiancé while he was trying to make her jealous from pretending to do it with her cousin? Since they backfired, attack under the belt by saying mean things of her being worthless, as he did understood her weaknesses as being worthless? As far as the sad conversation scene after her seeing her mother, first of all, I don’t believe he wanted it to go that way. He even tried to stop her from entering the dinning room. But since it got to that pt, I think he wanted to actually have a conversation with her… but the pain from his hurt of knowing that she was able to abort her own baby because she felt that the father of the baby made the baby not worth keeping muted him from being how he would have wanted to handle that conversation to what really happened. I don’t think all was completely lost here with regards to their relationship because, she uttered that she missed and wanted his old self back, and his drawing which I believe gave him hope that she still has feelings for him. All the other scenes, I think he got pushed to corner by father and step mother, and he was trying to defend himself and in process Khim got pulled in. Question now is how to get his wife back and not let her father get in the way again… (based on preview, and my imagination…) 1. Spend one night and get ur man back for the rest of ur life… what if he meant he is the man she is getting back by sleeping with him? Also, if she slept with him, then she can’t sue for divorce right? The only way they would divorce after that is if they both sign the divorce papers, and no guarantee that the signing would happen… 2. What if they do proceed with divorce meaning she gets whatever properties and she gives him her share of the hotel, could that be the reason why her father wants Lita to stop Khim’s wedding with Than? This would get the father to back their relationship indirectly.
Thank you for whoever found that hand gesture during the divorce papers scene!!
