" So what made FL to think that doing all of this is better than just ask him and let him choose?"You…
I agree with everything you said, except I think that the story is more told from the male leads point of view since we get more information about his background and how hard it was for him growing up so that will empathize with him more . We know very little about the female leads background and have to read between the lines in order to understand her actions and behaviours, I don’t mind having to read between the lines
confusion - was she poisioned in the last event, or was she always poisioned and given antidote without her knowing…
OK, so from what I understand from reading spoilers from the novel in the novel, the Empress had consistently poisoned her every month from the age of 10 and if she did well, she got the antidote. I believe in the tournament where she fought against JZB the empress had decided to stop giving her the antidote.
In the drama series, I believe the tournament was the first time she had been poisoned it taking affect during the tournament was why she thought that JZB done it
Does Sito know that Ming Xian was always a girl, just disguised as a boy? When did he learn this? I missed that…
Yes, she was entering the entranceway to go fight in her battle for the tournament and he was just kind of hanging around the entrance because he felt like he didn’t have enough spiritual power to be qualified watch Ming Xian fight? He was covered in injuries from clearly being beat up by his siblings. She healed him and invited him to watch her fight and told him that it doesn’t matter to her that you can make something of yourself without spiritual veins. Now I think for this, she didn’t mean like for him to be a warrior or anything by her comment I think because you can’t be a warrior and have no spiritual veins I think.
I agree with you 100% I think the story is beautifully written. The miscommunication is annoying but 99% of cdramas…
I would say that the miscommunication parts are usually primarily part of the conflict of Xianxia dramas it’s one of the reasons why I could not get into Love and Redemption the misunderstandings a miscommunication just drove me crazy. At least for this drama I can understand. I can understand why they’re like that because of their respective backgrounds and environments and how they grew up

Don’t think that he initially knew that she was a woman. It would’ve been nice to see his thought process and actually putting it together instead of just accepting it, but we know that once he saw her draw her bow against another beast to save the fairies life after they were punished that he immediately put two and two together lol
Ji Bozai is so dumb. Everyone knows the truth except him! After everything Ming Yi has done, he still doubts her.…
How do define everyone? He is not dumb although we is viewers can say oh there’s so many clues. Why should he have any reason to put those clues together? He is also dying though. I believe that he had a gut reaction which is completely understandable after all he had completely given her his trust. He is going to feel betrayed and he is going to lash out, but even the princess said to him that every misunderstanding can be cleared up with communication. I think it’s not his fault or the females fault over the fact that they don’t communicate well since they grew up in abusive environments lol
Because that is huge, political implications, also when it’s been drilled into to keep a secret since birth,…
I believe it does because you don’t get over trauma in an instant and from what I understand from other comments, she only really lived with him for a month so you don’t get over a lifetime of conditioning in a month lol
bro witnessed them doing the heartbound array & walking in that place with ducks & still think he has…
Well this is why he is delulu 😂, so this is the way stalkers think. Literally want to interaction when they were kids then meet her again and it’s like oh you should love me. I love you since forever 😂 building an entire relationship in his head that doesn’t exist
Agree!!! A drama is a good one when it elicit such strong emotions from the audience. I have to say, I haven’t…
Same, the last drams I watched where everybody was like so passionate about defending the leads or at least one of the leads was a Thai boys, love drama, called Cutie pie
idk but there were significant hints here and there many times, the way she had to live in an illusion of a boy…
We did get a little bit of hints like there was one episode where we saw a memory of her in the beginning where she was doing a handstand and had cuts all over her hand. 27 runs over and asks what happened and she said that she was hungry so she snuck out to get scallion pancakes and is being punished for getting caught. She mentions Being recognized and 27 mentions that the empress’s illusion is flawless so that’s impossible. I think the only reason she thinks she would be recognized around this time was when she helped Si Tu Long during her tournament. I’m making an assumption, although I can’t be sure that even after winning the tournament she still had to go back to training and couldn’t even get something to eat without being punished for taking a break. She obviously was doing the handstands for quite a while if her hands were injured.
The other thing is, we know that in episode 19 after she’s captured and tortured the soul, seizing technique, uses the memory of her mother to try and get her to confess where JZB and the antidote are. She’s young. She’s a teenager in a dark hole or dark place. She’s thinking about the fact that she lost or she didn’t win and was put there to reflect. So you can surmise that whenever she showed weakness or didn’t win that she was literally put in isolation and left there until the Empress said otherwise that’s abuse. She was left, screaming at her mother, not to leave her alone there while the Empress walked away after she told her that she’s always obeyed her and done what she asked, but this is the one time she can’t and her mother basically was like well then you can be left here to rock all alone with no family and friends Before walking away and leaving her alone in the dark

Since this was based on a novel and they had to completely rewrite the mailings character from the novel because after reading novel spoilers, he apparently was a real jerk at least in the beginning. He apparently looked down on women. Even though he and the female lead started a physical relationship pretty early on he’s still cheated on her and had affairs and other relationship relationships for quite some time.. I think he was even apparently married, although it was a political match that he’d never constipated for a year, which he didn’t admit due to the female eat until sometime into. the relationship.
The writers did this in Till the end of the moon as well. Where they had to rewrite the mail leads character to make him less morally objectionable lol. I feel like to make up for this in the drama. They overcompensate by trying to show more of the mail leads background to make the audience more empathetic to what he’s been through and then they neglect to show the same for the female lead.
Thinking about this today and I’ve got to say, and some people might not agree. The drama is really well written if they have people arguing in the comments trying to defend either of the leads. I think that it’s a really good opportunity to talk about different forms of abuse that go on and how it impacts characters, behaviour and development and actions throughout the story.
I for one I’m grateful to have a drama that really people are just so passionate about whether it’s defending the male lead or trying to discuss why they don’t like the female lead. I think it’s been a long time since I’ve watched a drama where the comment section has been so divisive lol
MY is so cruel. She had so many chance to confess! After everything JBZ has done, she still doubts him. What’s…
I could say the other thing that we know he’s dying and she doesn’t. I’m on both their sides. I understand that they both come from extremely abused backgrounds, which is shaped their character, actions and behaviour into who they are. Also, without all this angst and drama, we wouldn’t have a show to watch and argue over lol
