We did get a little bit of hints like there was one episode where we saw a memory of her in the beginning where she was doing a handstand and had cuts all over her hand. 27 runs over and asks what happened and she said that she was hungry so she snuck out to get scallion pancakes and is being punished for getting caught. I think the only reason she thinks she would be recognized around this time was when she helped Si Tu Long during her tournament. I’m making an assumption, although I can’t be sure that even after winning the tournament she still had to go back to training and couldn’t even get something to eat without being punished for taking a break.
She obviously was doing the handstands for quite a while if her hands were injured.

The other thing is, we know that in episode 19 after she’s captured and tortured the soul, seizing technique, uses the memory of her mother to try and get her to confess where JZB and the antidote are. She’s young. She’s a teenager in a dark hole or dark place. She’s thinking about the fact that she lost or she didn’t win and was put there to reflect. So you can surmise that whenever she showed weakness or didn’t win that she was literally put in isolation and left there until the Empress said otherwise that’s abuse. She was left, screaming at her mother, not to leave her alone there while the Empress walked away after she told her that she’s always obeyed her and done what she asked, but this is the one time she can’t and her mother basically was like well then you can be left here to rock all alone with no family and friends Before walking away and leaving her alone in the dark

Since this was based on a novel and they had to completely rewrite the mailings character from the novel because after reading novel spoilers, he apparently was a real jerk at least in the beginning. He apparently looked down on women. Even though he and the female lead started a physical relationship pretty early on he’s still cheated on her and had affairs and other relationship relationships for quite some time.. I think he was even apparently married, although it was a political match that he’d never constipated for a year, which he didn’t admit due to the female eat until sometime into. the relationship.

The writers did this in Till the end of the moon as well. Where they had to rewrite the mail leads character to make him less morally objectionable lol. I feel like to make up for this in the drama. They overcompensate by trying to show more of the mail leads background to make the audience more empathetic to what he’s been through and then they neglect to show the same for the female lead.

Thinking about this today and I’ve got to say, and some people might not agree. The drama is really well written if they have people arguing in the comments trying to defend either of the leads. I think that it’s a really good opportunity to talk about different forms of abuse that go on and how it impacts characters, behaviour and development and actions throughout the story.

I for one I’m grateful to have a drama that really people are just so passionate about whether it’s defending the male lead or trying to discuss why they don’t like the female lead. I think it’s been a long time since I’ve watched a drama where the comment section has been so divisive lol

I could say the other thing that we know he’s dying and she doesn’t. I’m on both their sides. I understand that they both come from extremely abused backgrounds, which is shaped their character, actions and behaviour into who they are. Also, without all this angst and drama, we wouldn’t have a show to watch and argue over lol

Exactly I don’t need her background to read between the lines and know that you don’t grow up with a deep mistrust or distrust of people and are so guarded like she is without some form of abuse

I’ve never heard the novel, but I know from spoilers from the novel that’s not why her mom poisons her.

Considering he saw them do the heart bond array together and even said to himself that the only way it’s possible to complete it is if you love each other and yet he’s still pursuing her in a romantic sense and trying to get her to notice him and be by his side lol. Dude they literally did a spell together that if they weren’t in the same heart in mind would kill them.

I feel it’s like even those brothers are strong. They’re pretty arrogant that it would never occur to them that somebody with no spiritual veins would be able to beat them and that arrogance makes them vulnerable.

No, she doesn’t hate her son being taken. The empress was the one who abandoned her son for having no spiritual veins in the first place. I think she was resentful. The fact that her son didn’t have spiritual veins, but this daughter of the Bo Clan did, since you know she didn’t treat Ming Yi very well at all

It’s because he’s severed or blocked,the connection after he caught her stealing. I think, though that you can’t feel physical pain through the heart connection, but you can feel emotional pain so I think he’d be more likely if he hadn’t blocked it to feel her pain at losing 27.

I’m not read the novel but from what I understand it was a happy ending lol
