Yeah her kid is really spoiled and out of control.. but that’s maybe she was spoiled all along by her father…
Sure, she needs rules - but both mother & daughter need time to adjust to the new normal. I don't think SF has been horrid at at all, but definitely absent and not by any means a good parent (until later on that is when she starts talking to YR) I think it's interesting how they made SF into the typical absent father role here, where the father was the main care giver.
I absolutely see a change in YR (Especially towards the end)- and I think we vastly misunderstand children (& why they do things.) Children are far more intelligent than the are given credit for. just making them subservient will harm them in the long run. Rules are good, yes - but we also have to understand the motivations of the child instead of just being angry and forcing our will on a young person who is dealing with huge emotions that they may be not capable of dealing with.
In YR's case, her father is her comfort zone, so when her mom is absent - she lashes out at SF or runs away to her father. Yeah discipline & rules are important, but we must understand children have their own specific needs (& why they are acting in certain ways) and accommodations.
I don't mind the kid at all. she's feeling hurt and just a child. But the two men are horrible and are the ones who need rules and discipline and they both got off far too lightly imo
I liked it for the most part, I do think both men (the exes) were let off fairly lightly for how horrible they were (especially Yan Weilun - whose violence felt criminally shoved aside)
I cannot fathom how some of you are more pressed at A LITERAL CHILD then the toxic men who were literally abusive garbage dumpsters.

I actually love the way she's written. She's allowed to have flaws, and remember Youran's father is the one who did a lot of the parenting and therefore "spoiled" her, since Su Fei was the one who was the primary breadwinner & busier with her own company.
The kid has been indulged for most of her life, and sure, she does need some discipline - but that doenst mean she should be yelled at or hit. I thought it was lovely when SuFei & You Ran had those heart to hearts. I'm actually glad to see Su Fei be (mostly) pretty gentle with YouRan as it is a scary time for a 10 y/o to process. And you can see she does start to become more mature as the drama progresses.
Bro do you not understand imperialism? Do you not know the history of the Opium Wars? Do you not understand how western countries exploited the hell out of China (& Vietnam, & Korea, India, most of Africa etc etc) causing death & destruction just for profit? Please read a history book (heck read Lenin's Imperialism or at least Parenti's Imperialism 101)
I've never hated a show as much as I hate this one. the plot line is a 130 y/o abusive dude that wants to bang an 18 y/o & keeps on invading her space & trying to touch her & kiss her without consent and eventually she just gives up. Not to mention everything is so messy & there is so much unnecessary garbage.
It was a hard watch emotionally, but oh so worth it (I don't know if I could re-watch because it made my heart hurt too much). Cast was great, writing was pretty great too.
You can't really blame the production in making these dramas. It is the Chinese Government that put restrictions…
My point is that China has no danger of being/becoming fascist.
My point is that there are literally fascists in government in Ukraine, US, UK, Brazil, Japan, India etc etc. My point is you have to take history and dialectics into consideration - China had & has to protect itself from imperialist nations (Nato countries) so it has to build national unity. If we take into account - Brazil & Ukraine were meddled with in elections (this has been done to over 50 countries btw) and are now fascist. Japan is a US proxy state. The us is currently trying to also intervene in Venezuela, Syria, China, Iran, & DPRK.
(& the US has literally funded & trained & armed Mujahideen resulting in Al qaeda & taliban ) The reason I mention these is it's these kind of groups that are a danger to China - as in radicalizing some minority groups (ahem Turkish Islamic Party) I mean you can educate people to help de-radicalize or you can torture people and out right slaughter them just like the US does.
Funny. every video I've seen of HK protests shows ridiculous restraint by police and over the top violence by protesters, including beating on regular citizens, including elderly people. Not to mention protesters are funded by US and trained and armed by NEDS . Why are there signs in english? why are they waving british & american flags? (& now Ukraine flags - Ukraine elections were meddled with by US and now run by literal fascists ) Have you not heard of the Opium wars where britain committed genocide in China and took HK?
If you want to read more about US interference I recommend reading Killing Hope by William Blum or Against Imperialism by Michael Parenti.

Every country has it's own propaganda. China is not good at it compared to the west. No China is not imperialist, and no, it is not equal to the west in terms of imperialism & slavery (which is still global at this point) - the west imported slaves and genocided the indigenous population and that is exactly what the west is built off of. The US was literally the model for concentration camps in Nazi Germany and profited off of Nazi Germany the most. and while Han supremacy may be a thing - China is one of the most diverse countries in the world (over 50 ethnic groups)and China does not = Han.
And as I said before not all nationalism is the same. Western nationalism is rooted in the reactionary, Countries like China, DPRK, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam, etc are all fighting against western imperialism that has infected the globe.
"People can't say anything against country and when they say, noone listens and they use violence (look what is happening now and what police and politicians do/say). "
? ? What is this referring to? The Chinese government literally consists mainly of it's people (mostly workers) and there are many strikes etc. If you're talking about HK, that is also backed by western forces and HKP have shown much restraint. If these protests were happening in the west, it would be a bloodshed (see also France, where protesters are being maimed, or the US where a cop ran his vehicle into a group of Jewish people protesting ICE, as one example out of many)
Concentration camps for Muslims is western propaganda and has been debunked. (The US does have concentration camps however) There are educational facilities for some Uyghur Muslims (not all Muslims either, just Uyghurs) as a preventative for radicalization wrt terrorist attacks from Turkistan Islamic Party. (TIM) Several other countries have toured these facilities.
No I don't think China is perfect or above criticism - but no country is perfect, and yet there is so much unwarranted slander against countries resisting western imperialism because they're not kowtowing to US empire.

Are you guys fcknn serious? There are fascist governments all over the world (Ie US, Brazil, Ukraine, UK, India, Japan, Israel, KSA to name a handful, and China is NOT one of them, China is Communist which is directly opposed to fascism.)
There are contexts you are missing, National pride in developing countries (IE China) is not the same as it is wrt the west. Western nationalism is entrenched in Imperialism and colonialism. The West is built off of slavery and genocide my dude. China has survived imperialism, colonialism and genocides and it's people have every damn right to be proud of their nation which has resisted Western meddling time and time again. Heck I'm proud of China, (& Vietnam & DPRK & Cuba etc) for resisting western imperialism & propaganda.
The West functions because of propaganda and is the best at it - (which is why most of us don't even realize we're propagandized) everything you've heard about China & it's government from Western sources are 90% propaganda & false.

I appreciated that there was no romance.
