Surprising how little Japanese movies gross compared to Korean films given population size and the insistence of Japanese "oh it's our movies that are great, not our TV shows".

As you might see from my avatar, I watched Bad Genius and really enjoyed it. Haven't seen any of the others and don't really intend to.

God bless communism. Makes me laugh my ass off when these retards at my university walk around proudly proclaiming…
It was disheartening to hear and see self proclaimed communists debate and get mad at people who had fled East Germany and the Soviet Union.

I think these days there are fewer of these self proclaimed communists on campuses but they still exist and they are a bit louder with the power of the internet.

It's just hilarious and sad to see some 20 year old British kid try to lecture a guy who grew up in the Soviet Union about what the Soviet Union was really like.

They didn't tell this season because there's gonna be second season.
This is what they always say and then there isn't 99% of the time. 0.5% of the time they change most of the cast (My Amazing Boyfriend 2) 0.5% of the time they have the same cast (The Big Boss, Fox's Summer, Legend of Chusen).

This drama was incredibly clumsy.

Fair enough it has substance and depth for Koreans. It comments on some of the problems in Korean society and tries to challenge the audience on a range of sensitive topics like single parenthood, sexual assault, sexuality and homosexuality but the way they make their points is very clumsy.

I wasn't really feeling the chemistry or jokes. It was alright but it wasn't anything special.

This show kind of reminds me of that one with Park Si-yeon (Greatest Marriage?) but a much better version. I can see the appeal and why it's important for Korea and Koreans but I kind of just shrug my shoulders at this. No standout performance. Poor delivery of life lessons/social causes from my perspective.

It's forgettable unless it challenges your views on the social issues brought up.

Question: when did you guys felt that the drama started to drag? For me it was between episode 45-50
As soon as the focus shifted away from the prince and his girlfriend to Han Jiang the love sick moron and SFHY, the impulsive idiot.

It goes beyond that though and into the plot. Some things make no sense at all. I'm not sure if the writing and directing team were clueless about how to plan or just lazy. They screw up some basic things, characters do things that don't make sense for them, etc... It's bad.

The prince and his girl in the pearl were the highlight for me and ever since they stopped being the focus it has been a frustrating chore to watch... but since I'm 15 episodes left, I guess I'll finish it off. This isn't even close to Nirvana in Fire. This is more like General & I which was also horrific.

is this a waste of time like the reviewer, michael tang, think? i'm afraid to read more coz i don't want spoilers.…
Yes. The characters are frustrating. The plot crawls at a snails pace and obviously will end unresolved.

For the hype it was getting it's the biggest disappointment for any chinese period/fantasy drama.

It has dark lighting, good scenery and costumes though.

I don't know how people are going to rate this. The directing and writing is pretty awful when I look at the show but I love the leads and the surrounding cast is talented...

The concept is good by the writers/director but the execution is horrific. I could probably do a better job and I speak no Korean.

I'm definitely eager for each episode and watch as soon as it's available. I'm not all negative on the show but there are obvious flaws.

Well you have to add the love interest, somewhere. Why would an android need a bodyguard in the first place?
Maybe the 'unexpected accident' was not an accident and therefore a bodyguard is hired to keep up appearances. A 'someone tried to kill my son so he needs protection' bodyguard. It's also possible the bodyguard is set up to avoid too much interaction with the robot. If you look at the average bodyguard out there, they're basically trying to keep people from mobbing the celebrity they are hired to 'protect'.

As a side thought not related to this comment chain: I think Korea is kind of going overboard with all the android dramas recently.

THEY'RE GONNA LEAVE US ON A CLIFFHANGER AGAIN IN TOMORROW'S EPISODE AND EXPECT US TO WAIT A WEEK FOR THE NEXT…
It's going to be a typical misdirect where we're going to have to wait until the 24th for the reveal.

So any update on whether or not it will be added to youtube or someone will be picking it up? I keep sending in a request to Viki roughly once a week.

It's an unpopular opinion but I think that manga and anime are slowly killing TV and Movies in Japan. I'm not saying never do Manga-->Live Action but I wish more TV shows and movies were based on an original idea.

Title Lion Pride
It's surprisingly really good! In fact I love it so far. Why is it not popular? This drama is so underrated.
Taiwanese stuff tends to fly under the radar but yeah I love it. Light and funny so far with a good mystery story and plot to carry it for 15 episodes.

I guess I would also add the lead actress is known more for her supporting roles and the lead male (even second lead) is pretty new. Established names usually have an easier time attracting people.

Title Haru ga Kita
Trailer doesn't look that promising. Saw it on DramaFever. The messages they are trying to send with it look like they're going to get lost in over-acting, poor writing and directing. Kai looks like he's going to be way out of his depth. He fit in OK in Andante because the girl playing Bom is new to acting but Kana Kurashina is experienced and it's going to show.

He has fans, I get that but he's not that good at acting and I don't think he's ready for this role. It's just TV producers cashing in on his name and image.

On A Korean in Paris Jan 5, 2018
Sometimes I disagree with the ratings of more racy movies but this was pretty awful. I saw some of the reviews in publications trying to dress up this garbage and make it pretty... it's not. There is no depth. Yes Paris and France has a dark underbelly like everywhere else. So what? The main character is boring. I don't care or know what happened to his wife. The movie could have been ~10-20 minutes and been much more compelling.

I think I'll go with diversity and pick one from the big 3 countries: Go Back Couple (SK), Million Yen Women (JP) & The Big Boss (CN).

A love story, a mystery and a highschool story (with tons of imagination but little romance despite hints).

It's tough to come up with one that had wide and mass appeal for everyone so I just picked my favorites.

The description is a little vague but you have 3 men as the main characters. One from a tribe out in the prairies.…
Yeah the focus is heavily on the men and their 3 destinies.
