Yes, I like reading mangas, webtoons and novels when they have given rise to adaptations (eg: Tokyo in April, Our youth...) because the content is clear and in-depth. The series follows the novel arc so this episode is not really different from the novel. It's not satisfying for many people but we can respect the novel author's work. It's just my point of view. And the drama's writer did an amazing job for this adaptation. We must think it's a japanese series and not western too. This can explain the treatment of the story by the writer

You're so lucky. I would like to read the novel. The books were published again thankful to the series but only in japanese language. I find summaries and a few translated passages on reddit but that's all even if I'm lucky for that. I hope they'll make a translation for international readers.

For me, the key to this series is communication.
