I am a gay guy and I think women watch BL to satisfy their sexual fantasies. They want to have access on things…
I'm glad I could help you understand it better! And about the Chinese BL censorship policy, it's just that Chinese government is homophobic af. It doesn't really have anything to do with women (or women not wanting to have children like this article said, it's just so bizarre), but rather with their homophobia towards gay men and their supporting of toxic masculinity. I think it's safe to say that they are way less harsh towards female members of lgbtq community. They have their ideals about "real men" and it's been going on for years and years. I think this article doesn't make any sense tbh.

I'm a woman, and personally, i don't think the reason i watch it is to satisfy my sexual fantasies. I just watch it bcs it...exists. Like any other straight drama. I like Asian drama and i watch them. In the case of BL, there indeed is a greater physical attraction (or you can call it sexual attraction if u want to) involved, because there are two male characters involved instead of one like in a straight couple, however i wouldn't go as far to call it sexual fantasies. Also, another big factor involved is the element of forbidden love (bcs of the same-sex relationship) and the vulnerability that comes with it. What i think is another great factor for a lot of straight women is the LACK of the female love interest. In this way, a woman doesn't compare herself to the female character and doesn't feel like there's a competition going on (don't get this wrong, these women are not weird for thinking like that about fictional characters, it's a natural reaction and often happens unconsciously, its just how the brain works), so she can just simply relax and enjoy the romance.
im so sad that this is not subbed, i watched the first episode without subs and even tho i dont understand anything they are saying, i can tell it's interesting
