Could be too melodramatic.

How should i say this, recently I have been watching japanese movies centered around romance. So far this movie is the most dissatisfying, not necessarily disappointing, since i didn't know what i was getting into. When i saw who the leading cast were i was really excited. I am an avid fan of the two so to finally have them together was nothing but exciting. The performance they gave, is enough but lt lacks chemistry. They did great for individual scene's and also the prison scene, but it felt like they were focused on how to act and portray their disabled character's. The plot also is a huge issue, in my own opinion it's unnecessarily melodramatic, i feel like they really tried to have a unique storyline. Unfortunately it felt forced and far from the title. With an already sad backstory for the leads, especially the male lead, why would you add more unto it. This felt more like silent suffering than silent love, especially with the amount of violence and depravity in the movie. Half of the romantic scenes is literally, the male lead working his ass off for a performance and the female lead walking with the male lead. Like what the hell man, they should've just focused in the romance of the two. They also should've fleshed out the female leads character to match the male leads. Other than that the cinematography was good but nothing spectacular. I could even score it lower, but i can see the effort done into it and it's not a complete mess. Also one plot point they could have done is the disparity of there social standing in life, i know it's generic but this time they have disabilities so, hahahahah. I don't know it's just not romantic. Also what kinda ending kiss is that, who in there right mind would kiss someone after almost getting into an accident, the same goes to that scene where the female lead gets bumped into and panics because of the crowd but suddenly the crowd disappears when the male lead shows up, like what? Those scenes pissed me off when they were obviously making the movie "realistic" with how melodramatic it was, should've sticked to a more romantic plot. Wouldn't really recommend it, especially if you want a sweet romance but it is has a charm to it, overall it's decent.

Late watch as always

Saw this drama having hype a year ago, but I think I was more interested in other things and was in a drama drought( Not interested in watching dramas for a time). So a year later I was having a crave to watch one, I was debating whether to continue dramas I couldn't finish or just watch something new, after seeing the first episodes of Glory(2026) and watching a short costume drama, and seeing Blossom(2024) among the most popular chinese drama's, suddenly I just decided to watch Blossom(2024). As expected the hype wasn't for nothing, although the start may seem like the usual start of a regression drama, it was still interesting. After that we get to see mostly what the female lead and what her situation was, the male lead was still there but not as much as the female lead and they were also setting up his story, I guess you could say he wasn't the highlight, it was always the female leads family and adversaries up until when the main leads meet, that's where we see a little bit more of the male leads character and what he was like before he had white hair. We also get to see the crux of the story, The Emperor and the Duke of Ding and what there relationship was. Anyways I don't want to make a summary of the drama lmao, this is for documentation so it doesn't matter. I gotta say I really like how they made the first half of the drama more female lead centered then for the second half it is mostly male lead centered. After the disappearance of Wang Xingyue from the story, the story was revolving around the male leads situation. It also fits the character of the female lead, at first she had to rely on herself most of the time and she didn't have anyone outside her friends and family to care about, and lastly she was afraid of love due to what happened to herself and her mother. After meeting Song Mo she finally loved someone and cared for someone outside her friends and family. Her family then took a backseat and she was always together with the male lead. When they got married the focus of the story went to the Song Mo's family with Wang Xingyue popping up here and there. That was until Dou Ming died and shortly after Wei Tingyu, after that the story was truly focused on the Song/Jiang family then later on the Royal family. I gotta say though I thought there were more of the characters Dou Ming and Wei Tingyu, especially with that first episode. Didn't expect them to die just like that and be used as a removal of Wang Xingyue to the story. I kinda hated the love triangle between the leads and Yuantuan, he was literally the matchmaker for both in their previous life, but then I guess they wanted that as enough reason for him to betray Prince Qing. I like the emperor pretty crazy scheme, but damn I guess he failed in the previous life, I mean common, this guy actually risked everything for his plan, it worked out in the second run though. i mean we knew it would work out, knew it when the self insert of the author would always say that the female lead can change fate long as she has enough strength, but then also added that individual strength is insignificant, so long as she and Song Mo the fated ones work together they can change fate. Pretty Overpowered if you tell me jk hahah. That ending, I know a simple search would answer my question but I do wonder if the novel actually have sequels hahaha. The rebels are pretty greedy hahaha, could've had a pretty nice life but oh well, drama wouldn't happen if the characters were contented with what they had. The acting was nice at times Meng Ziyi was a little off but it got better with more episodes, Li yun rui on the other hand a ted better but couldn't cry as well as others. The other cast did really well, in return it made the quality of drama elevate alongside with a pretty great plot. The music wasn't really striking, doesn't matter that much to me, I understand though that amazing music will make the drama more memorable, still it's alright. It's also a great rewatch later on, as so with other great drama like this one. Liked the romance and it's pacing and I see why there chemistry were praised. Overall, pretty great drama, will probably rewatch sometime in future.
